Yeah, I like them. I'm a fan of A Perfect Circle as well (different band with the same singer).
It was all just satire. Sorry if I offended anyone with my trolling and sickening posts. Peace and love to everyone.

I thought the last album was okay, but Invincible was one of the best songs they've come out with.

To OP - I fuarkin love em. I hope with all this Covid BS they still go on a few tours in the future.

Pretty much this. Fear Inoculum actually might be my favorite by them tho.

Went to this last januaryhttps://www.setlist.fm/setlist/tool/...-4b9b030a.html

Seen them a few times. Fu*kin Maynard hiding behind Danny carey and hiding in the shadows most of the show, he is a complete incel. The band is exceptional though live.

GOAT band, along with Pink Floyd

top 5 songs :

Jimmy
Pneuma
Push It
Rosetta Stoned
Disposition/Reflection (maybe), or could actually be Hooker With A P - seriously.

Yea it’s a big let down compared to their other stuff. Sucks they didn’t put more albums out really. I get their reasoning but would’ve loved to have twice as much material to listen to.

Tool is the goat though. Especially if you’re a musician and really pay attention to what the band does.
This body holding me, be my reminder here that I am not alone.

If someone doesn't appreciate Tool musically, they're retarded. I can understand why you might not like it, but they're incredible musically. Sort of like Dave Matthews Band. Can't stand the music but still are great musicians.

Sure, but their more recent stuff has been pretty bad.

Everything up to Lateralus was good. After that, some good songs but mostly blah.

I like the music, but many of their songs have cringey lyrics. MJK is a middle-aged man who never outgrew his teenage atheist phase.

i defy anyone to take those instrumentals and put better lyrics over the top without being cheesy. is it only the anti religion stuff you have an issue with or other tracks too?

i can vaguely understand finding vicarious or right in two 'obvious' with the lyrics, but the music for than makes up for it.

in my very humble opinion their best album is Aenima. jimmy just goes so hard

i'm a pretty new fan (3 years) but they hit me like a truck. listened to lateralus on 5g golden teacher, terrance mckenna style blindfold and headphones on. had lateralus on. bought an electric kit the day afterwards lol to get back into drumming

i reckon Aenima is their best work. I dunno man, I think fear inoculum is pretty damn good. but then again I'm a new fan and haven't listened to them for 20 years.

Rosetta Stoned is just a masterpiece musically though

Mostly the anti-Christian message, but also the vulgarity of a lot of the lyrics, and giving their songs names like Stinkfist, Hooker with a Penis, Aenima (enema with a fake-Latin spelling), etc. It just screams "teenage edgelord."

I like Jimmy a lot too, and I think it stands out because the lyrics are so personal. He's writing about his mother's illness and how it affected him instead of doing edgy social criticism.

oh i get you

yeah maynard is a weird dude, no doubt about it. you can tell justin and danny are just about the music. adam is the art guy. but yeah - i guess in a way it shows just how good they are if they can be in the rolling stones top 100 bands with those kinda names etc. Stinkfist etc

that's why i'm quite excited about a future album if it follows the style of fear inoculum, because it would get older folk listening to them, it's kinda like a modern pink floyd in a way where the drums are the start, not the guitar.

I had tickets for their show in march of 2020. They cancelled it 2 days before because of covid. I'm still pissed.

I saw them at Ozzfest 25 years ago. I love Tool

They better come back to Boise next tour
