Are there any franchiseemaxxers here
Since everyone is 10k/day CEO I thought someone might. I have a ton of money sitting around doing nothing and thought about becoming a franchiseecel. What tips would you give someone whose never done it before.

If the business model was so good, why would they franchise it instead of scaling up and owning all stores / retaining all profits?

Mainly the sheer reach of your operation if you really do scale significantly you can’t possibly oversee every single one
Need to learn local markets
Very labour intensive running them all just take a franchise fee and you can still hold equity in the location you don’t sell everything
Of course you need initial dedication to the company to make it grow but once you reach the multiple location/ability to franchise stage you’re laughing

In my country, there's a vending machine franchisor which I've looked at. They stock them for you and you just find places and pick up the money iirc. Only really considered because it seems like a kind of low effort, lowish risk, cheap investment that could eventually be somewhat viable and that I could reasonably do. Who really cares if it takes you a year or two to break even on some low effort **** like vending machines.

This is a new scam going around. I've been contacted by at least a dozen douchebags over the past couple months.
They got a guy I used to work with - he was a vp of HR somewhere, and posted on Linkedin how he had had enough of corporate culture and has made the plunge into franchise ownership. His post contained some of the pitch info I had received from the franchise salesmen.
1) All of the franchise opportunities are for retail businesses or restaurants.
2) Retail is dying
3) We are in a pandemic
They got a guy I used to work with - he was a vp of HR somewhere, and posted on Linkedin how he had had enough of corporate culture and has made the plunge into franchise ownership. His post contained some of the pitch info I had received from the franchise salesmen.
