An estimated one in five Americans has a sexually transmitted infection (STI), a new report finds.

New figures from the CDC estimate that on any given day in the U.S. there were 67.6 million sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in 2018. In the Mis, a popular Indian bodybuilding site, users reportedly claimed "I like those odds!"
With a population of approximately 320 million people, this suggests about 20% of Americans had an STI at a given point
There were also 26.2 million newly-acquires STIs with the most common being chlamydia, trichomoniasis, genital herpes, and HPV
Nearly half, 45.4%, of all newly-acquired infections were among people between ages 18 and 24
The new infections will likely cost the U.S. healthcare system an estimated $16 billion in lifetime medical cost

the number is dramatically increased when its young, sexually active women. It is like 1 in 5 has hsv 1 in 3 has hpv, so you sleep with 20, what do you think your odds are, it doesnt take any advanced mathematics to figure that out. The only thing is men only exhibit symptoms of hpv as warts and only 10-15% of people with herpes have outbreaks.

only ever had chlamydia. took a handful of antibiotics one time and it went away in like 3 days.


also get the occasional lip herps like once a year or two years.

hep and hiv? Only super degens end up with those, more or less. The percentage for wild people in the least safe populations reaches 5%+, so the real number for healthy, middle class people is much lower.

i had warts and i may have had HPV before. really not a big deal. the doctor freezes them off in less than 3 minutes. only one to watch is HIV obviously - but if you dont do bare anal with a gay man youre Gucci
