It's the sheer depth of the short interest in GME.

The longs are leveraging the margin credit of short sellers against them to force them to buy it at huge losses when they can't hold out any longer with their creditors, thus helping them drive it up further, until they're squeezing multi-billion dollar funds.

It's bananas, and not possible with just any stock. When it's over new short sellers will storm in like crazy, tho.

Gambled 10k on BB. Lets see what ******* miscers can do.... I remember ignoring bitcoin on the misc way back when it was $30 a coin.

In reality, it's just that one side is allowed to do it and they have pull within the system (contacts, cash etc) and the other side is a bunch internet fapping geeks like WSB/Stocktwits/Misc/Reddit

So i guess for us plebs investing in that after (big biz newspapers even covered it) is not illegal and will probably have no consequences

But if some reddotors try to use their platform too set up schemes, they might face legal consequences

Noticed your joindate. The account which I lost was an 08.. Obviously at the time I was naive and thought all the bitcoin chit was a scam, but I remember a BTC page that was always floating around the first page around 09/10. It's crazy to think about.

I'm lifetime holding a series of alt coins just in case this ever happens again.. Couple hundred thousand of .15c-.35c coins just in case.

Securities fraud/insider trading is convoluted and the TLDR is the SEC picks and chooses when to enforce it and what constitutes it

Yah this was me in 2011 when a miscer made a thread, “how to make $10/day from your computer, PM me” so I do and he tells me all about how to setup bitcoin mining and get 1 coin per day through a pool and I didn’t listen to him
