Anyone file taxes with RobinHood and WeBull?

I’m in a 2 day acceptance period on WeBull now, was only going in to buy GME and AMC.

he bought 100 calls (those calls feb 5th 570$ strike) were $110 this morning.

so he bought $1.1 million worth of call options.


right now those contracts are trading at $55 each.


why would broker sell on him? he got margin called on wait down? broker protecting their margin? thinking gme will crash and burn.
That guy messed up big not paying attention to what he was doing... that sucks.

But I really didn't think most places let you buy options on margin. On top of that, why in the ever loving fuk would they let him have $1mil in margin on a single position?

Yeah, most of my options are done in another account where it's $1 per contract to open, no fee to close. Not ideal, but manageable. I just don't think I want to deal with RH anymore.

I see there’s a lawsuit being filed against Robinhood but it’s in the Southern District New York which means forget about it. That’s the worst court system on the planet and their only job is to protect the bankers/Wall Street.

It’s chit like this that cements my belief that a decade from now, the financial capitals of the world won’t be NYC and London, but Moscow and Beijing.

Sounds like he has never traded options before and didn't realize how much a contract actually cost.

There’s also just plain CashApp which allows buying of stocks secretly

He saw the price of the contract was $100 and assumed he would be paying $100 for the contract, not realizing you take that number you see and multiply it by 100 for your cost.

Im normally not an over reactor, but this. Their whole premise was watching out for the little guy and letting small traders in on the game. Now that everything is commission free, and they just thumbed the eye of the small traders they originally tried to get in by not allowing them to trade, I'm not sure what is going to go well for them. What really do they have that Etrade, TD, etc. dont? Partial shares?

It's only if you want to transfer assets to a new broker, which I believe avoids the tax penalty of selling everything and buying back in when you open a new account.

I definitely want to get out of RH, but man will it be bitter making them rich off of our exit fees.

Sell everything, take cash, put in your bank account, open TDA account, profit. Dont pay fee? Most places do charge a transfer fee, but i know TD i sell everything, wait for funds to clear, and then can just request a cash money check.

Yeah, you can definitely do that. The only problem is that you'll be paying taxes on any realized gains from selling your positions.

I think I recall something where some brokerages would pay your transfer fee if you’re creating a new account.

I’ve never used RH, it seems like a chit ass brokerage though.

Where did all the BB shillers go?

I think this is a good price point to add on my position for PLTR. Bought 20 shares at $35.20.
