Is anyone else now clean off of

Drugs. Doesnt matter if its just a week clean or a month or 2 years?

If so tell me the improvements in your life since then?

Yep. I got home from a couple month trip exactly one week ago, and I haven't consumed a single bit of alcohol or drugs since then. I don't actually have problems with alcohol or drugs, but the final week of my trip I was hanging with a fun girl and did blow like 6 days in a row. And drank every single day of my trip.

Needless to say, I don't really feel bad about taking some time off. Bars are closed for a few more days anyways. I can at least focus on work now, so I can afford more trips. That's what I really want to be doing all the time.

here's my cycle bud (ded fkn Srs)

drink heavily 3-4 days in a row -- during those days and nights i feel almost euphoric, manic, very confident, and have a devil may care attitude about just about anything in life

this is followed by 2-3 days in a row of feeling subhuman; not being able to sleep, barely being able to look anyone in the eye, not being able to concentrate on anything (can barely compose a one paragraph e-mail for work, and leading a meeting with clients / public speaking is totally out the door).

If I can not drink for a week, my sleep is incredible, my mental acuity and concentration is at least 50% better, and any anxiety and depression i have is practically eliminated (and in turn i am very confident and any social anxiety is near zero)

i really need to adopt this, but i have some weird addiction to sitting in and watching a movie while finishing a bottle of wine, drinking half a 500ml of scotch, or drinking a 4 pack of double ipas

i don't do it often anymore, maybe once every other week, and i know it's bad, but it holds a special place in my heart (ded fkn Srs)

Drank at least a 12 pack of beer 3 to 4 days a week from 18 to 26. Swapped to drinking an 18 pack twice a week from 26-29. From 29-32 drank a couple times a month. Smoked grass multiple times a day every day from 23 to 29. From 21 to 26 took pain killers, anxiety meds whenever I had some spare cash and x tabs during the weekends. From 21 to 24 dabbled fairly heavily in pepsi. I'm 36 now and smoke grass and drink less than 5 times a year. I just started to feel like a grown up and didn't need to party like a teenager anymore so I stopped. Might get a medical MJ card this year though because why not? My next door neighbor has MS and sometimes I'll catch of whiff and she has some straight dank lol. Next time her husband comes to borrow a tool I should suggest a trade. Sure you can borrow a C clamp if your wife smokes me out

I haven't had any alcohol in a couple weeks. Probably taking a break while I cut for a few months.

I can fall into a similar routine. GOAT feeling when I'm drinking and hanging out and am in party mode, but then I think basically there's a huge dopamine/serotonin dump during that phase and I feel extremely depressed afterward, feel like I might cry for no reason, etc. Feeling very good these past couple weeks, but part of that is probably also the cut and feeling positive about my weight loss so far, looking forward to being at a much more aesthetic bf% by summer, etc.

I know what you mean about the movie thing and the DIPAs and stuff. Still like that occasionally. A few times years ago I watched Hot Tub Time Machine and drank two bottles of champagne each time. Weird to look back on but fun at the time.

Sober crew checking in.

I don't drink at all and simply put, everything in my life is better as a result.
Relationships with everyone, sex life, work, sleep, eating, mood, mental awareness, physical capabilities, memory, etc...the list goes on and on.

I had a pretty good life before the drug addictions.

Nice apartment, nice job, car, dated often, was in great shape, jogged 3 miles a night 5 nights a week, went to the gym, ate clean.

Whats phucked up is i see everyone taking about partying. I didnt even take my firdt drug to party . i took a loratsb to get rid of a hangover so i could go to work and it seems like in a flash. I went from being 33 yesrs old never having touchef a drug in my life. To taking a pain pill for a hangover then 5 yesrs later on heroin and everythibg else.

I look back now and i ask my self how couod i have ever let that happen or let my self get that way.

Its almost like a fog has lifted and im looking around Nd its 12 years later and my life has took a complete 180.

I havent touched heroin in like 4 years. But id back slide constantly with pills.

The desire is not even there anymore..ill be 63 when my son graduates from high school and i want to be here for that and give him everythibg i was missing as a child.

I mind my own buisness and alwsys lived by "to esch their own" so long as you are not hurting another person i coukd give a chit less what someone does but to all you younger miscers it would serve you well to stay away from drugs at all cost. It will take your life from you .in more wats than one.

Ill always want to.enjiy a guonness. And wings whike watching a ball gane o something but i havent been fall down drunk in years.

Im prescribed. That. How do you get addicted to them? Did they get you high? Ive known others thst have gotten addictdf to them. I just dont see the recreational value in them.

They work wonders for me and my quality of life. The differenxe is like night and day when i have them and when i dont.

it isn't worth taking if you have an addictive personality. and fuk yes they have a recreational value and they sure as fuk get you high. i would take like 5 bars, smoke 3+ blunts, drink some lean and be gone. the amount of fukking time i wasted holy fuk. makes me rage just thinking about it. they can also cause dementia after long use/abuse apparently.
I dont take them everyday just when the ptsd and anxiety kick into over drive.. Dr told me the same thing about them. Told me to take when needed or every other day but yes i know you are right and they are not something i can stay on the rest of my life.

Once im stable and back in the gym and in. Shape i plan to go back and battling those demons the way i always did. Exercise and healthy living .

I hear ppl say all the time that doesnt help with depression or anxiety. I know for a fact it does ..

They dont get me high at all. If anything if im home im sound to sleep in 10 mins.

But ive always known people who woukd do methamphetamine and onenperson wouod bounce off the wall for dats while someone else it made them sit still amd calm down.

I feel the same way when i thjnk about the years wasted and the damage done to name and reputation not to mention health. Mentally and physically. I was addicted to MDPV for a year straight. Nonstop use. Aka bathsalts. And i know for a fact it caused damage that cant be repaired.

Yeah tk anyone reading this. If you see drugs or aroubd anyone who uses them. Run fast. Fast and hard or you will regret it. No ifs ands or buts about it

Never did them. I wish I still had an add prescription I used occasionally.

I guess your body feels more predictable. Not a lot.

15 months clean next week, clarity came back after several months, lost a fuk of weight, alot more money, all bills paid off, passed my master electrician exam first try, overall better life, kids talk to me now(still a work in progress).
But the best is being able to sleep at night and deal with my actions and emotions. Not one regret.
