The GME tears will be glorious

- thinking it was their right to become a millionaire by putting $10,000 of student loan money into a stock priced at 60x its intrinsic value

- Suing Robin Hood for protecting its degenerate gambler userbase from their own worst instincts.

- Calling Melvin Capital the essence of evil, despite not knowing they existed until a week ago.

- Thinking they're "sticking it to Wall Street" when large institutions such as Blackrock own over 70% of GME stock.

- Spreading outright falsehoods even faster than CV-19

- Flooding every platform to spam promotional posts to buy GME stock

- Thinking they're the next Warren Buffet for buying a stock during the late stages of a pump-and-dump, and bragging about it everywhere they go.

- Acting like they're an altruistic force putting a stop to Wall Street's excesses, when in reality they are a mob motivated by greed.

Originally I had no strong feelings about it one way or the other. But now I will take great pleasure in watching every idiot with $500 in their brokerage account lose 90% of their money.

they're "trying to make their lives better" by convincing others to buy something they know will be worthless 3 months from now for their own personal gain

There's about to be a large population of GME bag holders soon. Every short squeeze in history has seen massive gains like this only to see it come crashing back down to Earth weeks later.

So who bought put options for this ride down?

I didn't time it perfectly, as I got in Monday and wish I did earlier. Sold half yesterday morning and the rest right before close yesterday.

I almost bought some Puts at the top this morning as well, as that would have been the OG move. Still made about a year's salary in three days, but it was such an obvious play that I regret not doing it and doubling my money this morning when it dropped from like $500 to $150 in 30 minutes.

Anyways, good week of investing. And now I have funds for more guilt free plays in the future. Feel bad for everybody who didn't sell in time, but luckily the broke ones likely didn't lose that much and it will be a valuable learning experience.

being short a stock doesn't drive down its value. Its lack of buyers due to a company not being a valued investment which drives down the price

anyone can short any stock they want if they believe its overvalued

the reason for lack of buyers is due to the coordinated efforts from brokers today to ban people from buying anymore shares

Brokers are protecting people from their own worst instincts. Nobody buying the GME at the prices seen yesterday will see a profit, ever.

The only difference I see here is usually billionaires short squeeze billionaires and its all regular degular.

This time, it was done by an army of retards. And the players like RH, etc... Had to tweak the rules to favor the billionaires which has triggered a chain reaction of more interest from not just regular everyday people (which is huge) but also high ranking officials in our government.

So I definitely wouldnt be risking my life savings on a get rich quick shceme, but this is interesting and worth throwing some play money at to maybe make some extra cash this week. But I do see this last no more than a week or two at most.
Are you not entertained?

I can tell you’re a low IQ simpleton who doesn’t know what you’re talking about. This isn’t about reddit or entitled people. This is about Wallstreet getting a taste of their own medicine. They run momentum plays on stocks all the time. Now that a few retail investors are doing it they are shutting down their avenues for playing the game. If you think this is right its because you are dumb (not name calling, I mean you literally aren’t very smart) and you would probably be better off staying in your own lane.

True. A lot of these guys in their early 30s or 20s really dont remember 2008 or had nothing to lose at the time. They've never been humbled by the market (even with the big losses earlier last year).

Bought some $50 puts that expire 2/5 this morning when it was around $400/share. Already up 40% on my investment and the glorious carnage is just beginning...

Institutional money vs reddit stimulus checks...tough choice in that battle, but as a policy, I always bet on bloat.

When will you realize that Wall Street isn't some monolithic force? More than 70% of GME shares are held by large institutions. Wall Street profited more off this squeeze than the morons running this stock up.

I'm working on a Masters in financial planning so yes I am staying in my lane.

ooh dear you're parroting that old line now - you just copying quotes from CNBC? dont you think its different when a hedge fund with billions in capital and educated individuals makes these types of plays knowing the risks involved vs. a bunch of people who have never traded start doing the same and could lose their life savings without knowledge of the potential downside? I think there needs to be a line drawn with what a retail investor is allowed to do. That's why there's the 25K day trading rule, options approvals required, etc. Most of these things aren't to "keep the retail trader poor." It's to protect them from losing everything, which is what many new traders actually do

Do you honestly believe that anyone going buying GME at $300 is going to make money?

Spoiler!
