I see 100s of others doing the same.
And GME trading at $330 from $3 and people think it is undervalued?
You can't get a bigger sign of a top than that lol.

I really don't understand why people are saying this is a sign that the market is at the top, if something like this gains an audience in any market you would have massive people piling in to get a slice of the pie. How does that correlate to the market strength/weakness?

Parabolic will follow with a 40% drop (from lift off to peak) in half the time it took to get to the peak.
BUT I dont think this event is big enough to plummet the broader market. If WSB tries to go at SPY, which is doubtful, and they had the same following then...

They haveDECREASEDtheir short positions from yesterday's manipulation, it's around75% now from +140%at the start.
the situation (1/29 10 AM ET):
- short interest: 75.54% of float by Ortex, 113.31% of float by S3 Shortsight
- short share public availability: 0
- shorts are exiting their positions, but an amount of shares equal or almost equal to float is still shorted.
- robinhood and other brokerages didn't have the capital to place buy orders at times yesterday. Robinhood is apparently going so far as to liquidate GME shares in accounts that are not using margin trading(!) If you're still on robinhood, you should find a new broker ASAP. Retail brokers who didn't blow up completely yesterday include:
- vanguard
- td ameritrade
- fidelity

Yea we've been in a huge bull market for like the last decade and who knows if the top is in. It probably should be in but with the fed propping up who knows.
But I think a lot of the GME/AMC meme stocks is more of a movement than a dotcom bubble situation. If you browse twitter/stocktwits/wsb or whatever you'll see tons of people just buying 1 or 2 shares and not even caring if they lose money because they feel like it's the only way they can rise against people who they deem responsible for what's wrong in America.
The dotcom bubble was just people wanting to speculate and make money.

Its undeniable that shady chit goes on behind the scenes to manipulate the markets, but this is another level. How is that even possible?

Will it lead to some sort of crash or harsh correction this time around? No idea but the warning signs and historical evidence are all there.

Other tech stocks however, are just reacting due to COVID. With lockdowns and social distancing and the need for technology to keep us going, this was a natural progression, IMO. If COVID hadn't hit, we wouldn't be seeing the valuation that we are with tech stocks right now.
Tech stocks didn't go up because of some "bubble" type situation (in my opinion), they went up based on how the economy needed to shift due to COVID. Good example is AMZN - people wanted to get everything ordered online instead of risking it at stores, so naturally AMZN gained a ton of marketshare. That and the fact that so many businesses had to shut down, it's not a surprise in the least that AMZN ballooned like it did. You can say the same for other tech companies too.
