you really don't need much if you only need it for occasional gaming and streaming, especially if you will only be doing one at a time.
My internet at home is capped to 3.5mbps (so in reality like 0.5mb/s download) due to the area I'm in and there being virtually no providers who service it, and I can get by gaming/streaming just fine when i'm the only one on using the internet. Gaming can get a little laggy and streaming will be pixelated once other people start hopping on though...luckily I only ever do 1 thing at a time on the internet so it's manageable.

Additional bandwidth doesn’t necessarily mean faster internet access...Speed is determined by the amount of data you can download at one time but it’s also determined by the service you are connecting, their restrictions and windowing. There are very few services that require massive amounts of bandwidth or will let you consume massive amounts of bandwidth.
Add up the maximums bandwidth of the applications you use and multiply it times the number of devices that will simultaneously access the apps....and get that amount of bandwidth. There is a more precise methodology but it’s too much to type and better to have too much than not enough.
Most goofs buy way too much bandwidth, flush money down the toilet and never use it..

50Mbps is probably fine if it is just you. Would theoretically be able to stream all 4K services with a bit of headroom. 100Mbps if you worry about your ISP not fully meeting their advertised speeds.
I have 1Gbps and the only service that will use that full amount is steam. It actually is fun to watch 50GB games downloading in a few minutes. Other than that, I never use the 1Gbps.

You just need 10 -25 Mbps. Most people at home just need that and even that may be too much.

AT&T is offering 50Mbps for $45 + $10/mo for the equipment lol
Literally a rip off to charge for $10 a month for equipment
Probably windup getting Xfinity, due to no bullsh!t fees and having different options for plans. AT&T only has one plan offer.

Every few years I upgrade my speed and get a better offer (6-7 years ago I had 150mbps for like $60/mo, upgraded to 300mbps for $70/mo with basic cable until recently my promo went away, so i upgraded to 600mbps for $60mo including taxes.)
I see 0 difference in streaming/gaming between the 150mbps and 600. However, downloading a movie/game or updating apps/games on the PC is obviously 3-4 times faster, but that's just it.

I pay about $65 a month for 250MBPS down and 25 MBPS up. I live alone, and can game, misc, and have spotify running too listening to tunes. I'd recommend about 50mbps per user in the house.
