I'm hoping next week AMC hits the share I bought in for so I can gtfo. I told myself that the last 2 days but once the stock kept going up I got greedy then it went back down. People keep saying to hold and that it's eventually going to skyrocket, but these people don't know what they're talking about. The ones who are making money are the ones who got in early before these stocks went viral. Eventually there are going to be bag holders and most people jumping into this are looking for a get rich quick scheme. Once I pull, I'm getting the hell out of Robinhood and start investing smartly with a different brokerage

Lulz, I got into AMC the evening it hit $7. People were saying it would open the next day at $10. I always wake up for premarket trading and was literally laying in bed watching it grow. It opened premarket at $8 and went all the way to $25 in 2 hours - no halts or anything. I made a solid $10k off that but couldve hit $13-15k if I had sold right at the top.. sold at $23.

And btw, you are the only one that I've seen accurately describe what occurred with Robinhood. Additionally, the open interest created a very dangerous situation where if certain markers got hit, there was the potential that RH would not have been able to deliver 100% of the shares depending on how many would have potentially been exercised had no brakes been put on.

It's not as sexy of a story as some big hedgefund robinhood scandal, but it's accurate. The sexier story with RH, Melvin, Citadel, etc., however is a good lesson to new investors that your friend is not necessarily your friend in these markets.

''eventually going to skyrocket'' dude AMC skyrocketed, it is already sitting on the moon as it is now, it is sitting up 500% right now, people telling its going to skyrocket are a bunch of gambling degenerates, even if it drops down to 3 bucks it would be 50% gain, that itself is classifed as skyrocketing for a company that was about to go belly up few weeks back

Optimist lowkey dropping golden nuggets here in a bunch of noise. The guy makes sense. Even if he was trying to pump and dump he wouldn't be able to do it here, you can't just pump a stock with a few broke people on a forum, I did a quick DD on his picks and one of the tickers he mentioned might get approved by FDA for a drug that treats covid, thats yuuuuge

we think it was a coordinated pump and dump via multiple forums/discords/chat rooms, probably not just by him, but his friends too.

well that might be the case, thats why you are supposed to do your own DD for the tickers mentioned

That being said, I am invested in 2 of his picks, but just a small amount, fun money, so far so good, lets see how it ends up, I did it mainly because I wanted to get skin in the game, was thinking about trading OTC market for a while so I dipped my toes a little bit for the start

Almost every position I hold I am down overall. I only have 1 meme stock which is nok. Everything else is what I thought to be good companies. Aside from a couple new companies that may or may not do well.

TSLA -$70.28
BA -$499.06
CRSP -$518.80
ARKK -$156.77
TSM -$9.98
ARKG -$147.38
BNGO -$22.60
MRO +$117.68 (the only position I’m up in)
MVIS +$446.17 (sold a $3 cc so none of that is mine)
NOK -$330.60
RECAF -$11.19
DFLY -$9.56

Really depressing, seems like I should probably just cut my losses and give up trading all together. I’m not sure what’s gonna happen but I feel like an idiot.

I’m scared to buy anything because it seems like every time I do it just keeps dropping. I held AAL for months at $16.29 a share, finally was able to sell the 200 shares I had at $17.22, then the next day AAL was $29 in premarket. I think I am cursed, srs.

What why would you sell those at a loss. You're not even down much and the selloff was literally just a reaction to the WSB/GME situation.

Even if we do see a correction this year, no one knows when. Maybe this is it and if it is it's barely even a dip in the grand scheme of things. There's nowhere else people can put money except stocks and real estate. I would keep averaging in to good stocks and don't worry if they go down one week.

GME may have been a get rich quick scenario but in general investing takes years to truly pay off.

Correction most likely tied to decreased confidence in the market due to volatility with the GME conundrum

If I were him I'd buy an otm spy put like what was mentioned some pages back, just incase the market does take a dive but otherwise just hold those stocks and hope they recover

I don’t think I’ll sell, but like I said I just feel really unlucky when it comes to buying stocks.

For instance I finally bought 1 share Tsla the other day when it hit $835 and then 1 when it hit $820.

Now it falls under $800 for the first time since the run up. Almost like it knew I bought it.

And then AAL. It’s just one thing after another.

Why'd Prime get banned?

The word I've seen elsewhere is that there's still money to be made in GME as the shorts still need to cover. You just have to have balls and be fine getting out when you're up without trying to catch a falling knife.

Some of these stocks were extremely overvalued and had no footing in reality. We're seeing a pullback on these, and it's causing an overall strain on the market.

I don't think the sky is falling.

As another poster mentioned, there's literally nowhere else to put your money right now besides assets, whether it's stocks, real estate, etc.

I'd be more concerned with the impending inflation that will inevitably happen when the world opens back up. People are going to spend like mad, and the Fed will just change their definition of inflation again so they can keep interest rates low.

Are calls due for GME like AMC on monday? going to try and add AMC on etrade monday. It's going to rocket and might crash the brokers.

People are holding GME regardless and calls are going to expire in the money making wallstreet buy them at a premium, not even counting shorts. It could seriously hit 800-1000, AMC could hit 100-150 next week. i think we see SEC lock trading though so the money might be frozen its a chance you have to take.

The fact you have nerds who spent thousands of dollars and werent scared into selling when RH and other brokers did all the shady shiet and said they will hold regardless is crazy, something we haven't seen in a while.

It got short squeezed that’s why AAL exploded. Came back to reality quick. Can’t predict that.

Right now meme stocks are getting pumped hard. IMO, once that euphoria ends and shifts, I’m expecting a hard pump to 3800-3900, but we may dip Monday to around 3600. As a bear I am buying this dip via calls as I believe big money needs to sell to retail. We will pump hard, saw a big option play where some1 dropped 4 million on 970 strike Tesla calls. This past week showed how exposed and overleveraged funds are due to GME, liquidity is very low right now. But big money is not positioned yet, so they will need to pump to position themselves. Feds end overnight repos 2/9, I’m playing mid feb/ end of feb for peak euphoria. Then dump begins.

Everyone is playing the inflation meme, deflation is coming. Id sell into strength next 3 weeks as risk/reward of stocks is not worth it right now

Why do you think AMC will go so high? Did hedge funds short amc as well?

The market's drop is no where near enough to be called a correction yet. Take a look at the graph of Dow, S&P, Nasdaq, or any stock you are looking at over the last 1 or 2 year time period. You'll see that the indexes are still very near their all time highs, as are most "good" investment stocks. You have to look at things in a yearly or multi-yearly context (when it comes to investing), not daily.

A true correction is something like 20-30% down, and very possibly even more given how much valuations have ballooned over the last 3+ years. Whether that will occur, when it will occur is anyone's guess tho.

Vix needs to get above 40 and all hell breaks loose, funds are all short USD, VIX, and treasuries. During a correction all these squeeze, just needs a catalyst to make everything explode

Not only is it heavily shorted, the calls made by wallstreet before this happened are all going to expire in the money monday. Which means they HAVE to buy a shiet ton of AMC at premium prices. It's going to rocket Monday regardless. The fact they couldnt bring it down past 9 dollars friday is insane. If your holding AMC id sell as soon as you are up 100% because i think these stocks are going to get frozen any day.

It’s not that insane. From what I read I had the lowest in at 2.3, when AMC fell I doubled up and it only pushed me to like 4.81 now I know I didn’t get in the dip preferred spot but, the bottom is already sold out. I actually bought back in around 150% gain just because I seen a 400% gain and I knew low 90-150% is the best Ide see because before the fad I was planning on riding AMC to 28-35 plans changed I think the AMC company will be able to use these new funds to upgrade and eliminate cash burn, just as GameStop could become the new spot where everyone goes to actually play games against each other, a PS5 is so expensive that I could see GameStop being the new LAN tournament spots for some of this esports. I’ve been trying to grow my cross game Legion for years now and we want to all be professional, hell all those players in the current tournaments could just afford to play and it’s our turn the money is shifting and it’s no longer about how many slaves you have it’s about how well you can survive without spending a god damned cent or high intelligence. No more stupid people with money.

I really shouldn't even comment on this because I haven't looked into this stock at all, and I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about or anything.

But people have to remember that a lot of this information is coming from just a handful of voices on WSB's or wherever, then being echo-chambered by everyone reading those threads as if they are facts. In this type of situation, I'd believe about 5% of what I read, and then go verify that as well.

Stay safe, MEME bros.
