I don’t say a lot of bad things really.

Only really maybe hurt one ex with words. I called her a child. That I used to care about her and that any guy she will be with is a replacement me at best.

In hindsight, that wasn’t fair to her because I was breaking up with her. It wasn’t like she cheated or anything, things had just gone bad.

I've never said anything like a direct insult or threat because that stuff is shallow as fukk and gets said all the time. But maybe not the worst but the most hurtful thing I ever said to a girl was:

"I'll always love you, but I can never love you the way you need me to again".

This was to my ex after we had broken up for a long time, and she came running to me when her current relationship was in the chitter. Like when I said it I was turned around and I was kind of hoping she didn't catch it. She was in my apartment crying her eyes out because she missed "us" and her current boyfriend was being an ass. She got like really quiet and when I turned around she was absolutely crushed, like I've never seen a girl that defeated and dejected. Like I took all of the life out of her and it was sad to see man. Someone who at one point I'd give anything for was a total stranger to me now, and I couldn't do what she was asking of me. At that point I think she knew I was over our relationship and she started crying harder than she ever did before and left in a hurry, even forgot her coat. I never saw her or spoke to her ever again after that.

I like that response. As mad or hurt as any ex has ever made me feel I've always kept my cool and let them be the ones to embarrass themselves instead. I just try to stay cool and calm. Last thing I ever want is for them to know I'm butt hurt, mad, and bitter and they've gotten to me.

If my recent ex that broke up last year ever reached out like this I would pretty much have the same response. I would throw in that she's tainted to me now, and I will never be able to look at her the same way I once did EVER AGAIN, but wish her the best and want her to be happy...........and oh btw you owe me $1500.

And I really did love the guy. We had been together about 7 years. His mom was a mean drunk. He could say the most awful things to me; often seeming completely unprovoked. The worst would be when he did it in front of other people. He was out of town for a month or so (work related) and I had the space to recognize how I really felt. I asked him about it as the relationship was ending and he said "I just think of the meanest possible thing I could say, and I say it."

Lol it's the truth. I'm not sure why either side thinks that you're going to be friends down the line.
