My view is that nobody should throw good money after bad, but also that nobody should lock in losses while a trade's thesis is still sound.

We don't know what really happened to short interest yet, and I've been burned before letting go of a losing stock just before my prediction comes true.

Most likely outcome is that if this tanks, I'll complete the lot of 100 shares to bring the DCA down and sell covered calls on it until somebody buys out GME.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

Be smart, boyos. If the bottom has fallen out, don't double down to prove you still believe in the dream.
That saying sounds good but it's hard to apply in most cases. I mean usually you only invest in something you believe will make money. If you throw more money at it when it drops and then it recovers to a new high you look like a genius, if it continues to bottom out then you get people saying "well, you shouldn't have thrown good money after bad".

Though in this particular scenario, hard to argue for buying more of a very over valued stock just on the hope there is still some hedge fund to squeeze a little longer.

I'm surprised that redditor didn't cash out a lil more. He still put away $13 mil and he's been tied to this for months now, so I get wanting to see it till the end

He's the one that did all the due diligence and got this ball rolling 6 months ago. He dealt with all the backlash of people saying he had no idea what he was talking about and at the peak he was up $50 MILLION. That was plenty of money to retire the rest of your life. And he left it in. Should tell you something.

greed took the best of me today. I slowly made around 20k trading stocks using big names like google, apple, etc as small time hobby. Then i got hyped up, cashed out all my stocks, and put in gme. lost it all in 1 day plus the 5k i started with in GME. Learned my lesson but i feel nauseous.

Everyone who gets into the market gets their ass handed to them at least once. Happened to me 10 years ago (Chinese solar stock), happened to my father (silver in 1980), probably happened to my grandfather, great gf, uncles, cousins, etc.
May take a few years to recoup those losses but it'll happen, esp if market takes a huge dump and you get back in on the low.

I was very hesitant when I first heard about it but decided to jump in when it was at $90 a share. First day closed at -$500 and was so mad at myself but i held on. Next day it shot up and I sold for a few hundred $ profit. Bought back in and did a couple days trades. Ended up +$7000 at peak but greed got a hold of me and I held. Currently I'm around $3000 profit but still holding 10 shares shares @ 116. Plan on selling those tomorrow morning at costs if I'm lucky

I was telling people not to chase this when they were late to the game, but so many were convinced it was going to $1000.

All fun and games if you just bought a few shares for the lulz, but feel bad for the kids that didn't know what they were doing and put in more than they could afford to lose.

i bought a 3 bedroom house in 2008 when i was 25 and single. i came yay close to getting an ARM. i was financed 100% so i was like immediately underwater. i think it was maybe 5 years later and i basically sold it for what i paid for it.
