Today is the 62nd anniversary of Buddy Holly's (age 22) death

Along with Richie Valens (17 years) and Jiles Perry "The Big Bopper" Richardson Jr (29 years) of Course in Clear Lake Iowa in a plane crash along with Pilot Richard Peterson.

It's incredible how big of an impact a lot of these artists made in such a short amount a time. I'm always amazed by that.

James Dean is still to this day thought to to one of the coolest dudes of all time and the guy died at age 24. Was honestly in like 2-3 movies and people still talking about him

It's just one of the mighty powers of Americana I suppose. WHen i have met non-americans over the years and get to talk with them, a lot of their interests lie in not only the current popular things but in that which was once popular. Americanclassics: westerns, classic american literature, movies/actors/actresses etc

He is kind of like the beatles in that sense. They were active for 10 years but only REALLY active (putting out albums) for like 3 or 4 but they still remain giants. I guess when you are the most popular of a new type of anything, then you tend to stay there
