There are just so many more possibilities with a skateboard that it tops everything else in the extreme sports category imo.

You should check out Rollerball. It's a sci-fi roller skating movie set in a Dystopian future.

This is a great movie/documentary. If you grew up skating during this era it'll all look familiar. The clothes, the lingo, the style...

Crazy how this guy was so gifted at skateboarding and could've had a life on easy street and managed to fuk it all up and now he'll spend the rest of his life in prison.

He was making money by the wheelbarrow full at the time but also spending it recklessly as you'd expect from a 21 year old with no real responsibilities.

Fast forward a couple of years and the entire skateboarding landscape changed seemingly overnight. Vert was OUT and street was now KING. He struggled to adapt to skating street. Vision went under and the money dried up.

Long story short he murdered a broad and now he'll rot in prison forever.

Ive seeen it. Its a good doc.

I met that azz hole in 1988 at the bluegrass aggression session. He came in firet place over hawk and hosoi.

He was a complete dickk. Hawk and hosoi and cab were super nice and down to earth though.

He does come off like a real cocky SOB in the film. It seems like he was a bit of an outsider or loner amongst the pros at the time, probably because he was an arrogant dick which isn't the norm in skate culture.

He was good though. There's that one short clip of him doing a McTwist like it was nothing in the massive concrete bowl at Del Mar. That was nuts to do that on something that gnarly and with that much vert.

Edit: found the McTwist at 3:21...mental
