If I fill it myself I imagine a lumpy and possibly dangerous eyesore ... yet, it's so cheap. $35 vs $250ish. I found an article about how to stuff it.

Buy one stuffed.

They just fill with random cut offs from clothes or unused clothes. Remember radio show did a call in and people found panties and bras in them.

I bought mine stuffed - rationalized the extra $ as a convenience fee.

I bought an empty one and filled it myself. Mainly because finding a good 6ft bag that weighs about 120lbs was pricey.

I used old clothes and cut it in strips. took a while, but electric scissors help. You can get away without cutting up clothes, but it won't spread as evenly. I used the carpet foam insulation to line the bag, filled it up about 1/3 of the way, then put few sand bags to push everything down. After a day or two, filled up 2/3, then used weight again to compress everything. Then filled up all the way and put weight once again to press it down. it's a 6ft heavy bag that I can adjust between 120-150lbs by adding sand bags on top. No slumps

Some people put the PVC pipe in the center, I didn't because there was no need to.

I don't see how you could mess up if you fill it with ground rubber.

This was just what I was looking for. Sounds complicated and prone to fuk ups if one is gifted with a delightfully smooth brain such as myself. I will think about it for a while as I have a few other new toys to play with, but I'm thinking I might get me a pre stuffed baggie.

Not surprised. The barbell I have I paid $50 precovid, now, the same thing is $300 srs.

With ground rubber it'll be just like filling a bag with coarse salt... just pour it and you are done, zero change of soft spots. I will be heavy AF though, so you might need help to hang it and make sure the fixture is strong enough to handle it.ground rubber is used in synthetic turf... chit is ground old tires and sold by the truckload. if you are searching it as "heavy bag filling" you are mos def gonna get scammed

I recently got some resistance bands. The weird way the material gives way is kind of sexy. Maybe I'll work out and try to summon a little ganas. When I misc too much I find my heterosexuality sorely tested when folks are as mean as they are. The misc my cheapo covid gym people so I"m trying to make do. Real people are usually more fun.

It's going to go either in my room in front of the squat rack or on the back porch. I can be like the karate kid and practice in the setting sun.
If it goes in my room I've got a piece of metal through the ceiling. I think I can hire the construction folks to hang it by putting a strong piece of metal through that hole that's already there. If I make the bag heavy enough it's not likely to move much, which is good since it will be a tight fit.
