Anybody here use a smartwatch or a fitness tracker to track steps, heart rate, sleep, cals burned during a workout etc??? If so, would you recommend it and which one?

If you’re just going to use it for working out get a mid level garmin.

If you’re gonna wear it all the time get an apple watched so you aren’t adversely judged by chicks

Tried a fitness tracker but didn't like wearing it while working out, prefer polar h10 chest strap paired to my phone. If you want to track specific miles/hr and gps then I guess you could find a use.

Don't see a point in tracking daily steps, rather just factor in average activity to NEAT component of TDEE and track weight and cals/macros for gaining and cutting. For the vast majority of workouts just work it out as 4-7 cals/minute depending on intensity and you will be way more accurate than what is on the watch.

Expensive toy with little utility over a chest strap

Are you looking for more than just fitness tracking?

I personally went with Apple Watch. Not only for the fitness aspects of it, but because I use the other features. Alarms, calendar reminders, and since we don’t have a home phone I can answer calls and texts. I constantly lose my iPhone, it has a phone ping finder lol, when home since I’m busy with a toddler.
It reminds me to get up and move around and encourages me to “close my rings”. It tracks my steps and workouts and it easily automatically uploads the info to MyFitnessPal. I can’t comment on the sleep tracking, or if it even does, because I take it off at night.

I love my Apple Watch.

-tracks steps and calories burned
-track workouts
-control my music during my workouts instead of pulling out my phone
-stopwatch/alarms
-read/send text easily, answer/make phone calls
-start my truck
-control lighting in my apartment
-ping my phone if I can’t find it

A lot if other cool features but those are some my favorite features

It was the one time I thought about getting an apple watch. Lasted about 3.50 seconds.

Hope this helped.

I always thought they were gay...untill I started using Google assistant. The **** does everything, even starts or unlocks my car....so now I want one of the fossil smart watches that have google assistant built in, but do I really need it?

Haven’t used my Apple Watch in almost two years. Srs.

I don’t need something else to compulsively look at all day.

I have a garmin fenix watch, $500 or more for, I forget. If I ran and swam out doors, I can see the use. It has GPS.

Stuff I do now you should really use wrist wraps, to protect the wrist. Nope, how many steps you took does not matter compared to this.

If seeing and accounting for the metrics this stuff provides motivates you.......do it.

Apple has the most accurate heartrate monitor

For everything else get a garmin
-Some people say good things come to those who wait, truth is, good things come to those who work..... who work later.....who work harder...... who are willing to go further than anyone else to get them. If you're waiting for good things to come to you, you'll be waiting for a pretty long time.

-I'd rather live life saying "I failed" than "I could have"
