Just based on what I see in your post, re-emerging from his house was the mistake to which 100% of reasonable, law-knowledgeable people, to make no mention of actual attorneys, would say "don't do that".

Oh no, it gets "better." He went into his house the first time, grabbed a pistol, then shot them both. THEN, he goes BACK into his house, grabs a rifle, and finishes them off, then goes home and dumps himself.

Throughout the video though, before the shooting, the couple basically do everything in their power to get themselves shot.

I don't have much of a problem with the guy talking trash and standing in the street inviting the other guy talking trash to come out and face him so he can knock him out. Didn't even go into the dude's driveway after him did he?

IDK what he's thinking when he says he'll make the guy's life a living hell living next to him or whatever, but, given how psycho the psycho guy went, he probably brought that 'threat' on himself through prior actions not in this video.

ETA: I dislike these formats where you can't just grab the timeline at the bottom and put it where you want it









Betcha that was an AR15 style and somebody's definition of mass shooting and why yada yada even though a revolver would have served the same purpose here (don't worry they'll come for the revolvers eventually)

Crazy that the dude is shooting the first time for what seems like 4 seconds without hitting either one of them . . . and they're just standing there. Not running, not fighting back. Nothing. Must be just some "this isn't happening so I'm not sure what to do" reaction that I'm sure is more common than I'd think.

Well, the woman/wife did do something, she held up her right arm, probably with her phone, or pointing to the house, saying go ahead, we have it on video.

The mirror is purely to optically center the scope. Is it necessary? No, you can shoot an uncentered scope, but then you also don't know where in the range of adjustment of the scope you wound up. Most people who optically center their scope do it by counting clicks, but the mirror saves you the trouble of counting into the hundreds of clicks.

I don't think it's delay, but I'll look again. Seems like he comes down the driveway and fires several shots and he must be missing. Then he kind of stops, takes more careful aim, and hits the guy for the first time and then he's finally like "OMG I'm being shot at--I'm hit!!!" and runs.

Also I think he probably landed some shots before we can really see the result of it on screen. The whole pistols are weak and ineffective as a general rule, what do people usually do after being shot with a pistol, whatever they were doing before they were shot with a pistol, etc. No psychological stop there, dude probably absorbed several torso hits before he really reacted, took a few moments to...sink in

I’m sure nothing will amount from this, but it is undoubtedly the worst video I’ve seen in regards to gun violence. The execution is right out of a movie

Video was pretty mild compared to some of the cartel and isis vids. The NZ one was pretty gnarly too.

In haven’t watched the video yet, but our populace has a surplus of short-tempered, violent a-holes who lead miserable lives.

They have no restraint and will attack anyone for the slightest provocation, real or imagined.

I learned this lesson last summer. I got away unharmed and without having to defend myself, but the lesson was learned. I’m keeping my mouth shut next time and will avoid any discourtesy.

No doubt a prosecutor would repeat ad infinitum in the opening statement and closing argument that you said something insulting to someone (who first threatened you with a beating) before you shot him (in self-defense as you were being attacked while at a disadvantage): “The defendant was verbally insulting and looking for a fight, and when it appeared that he was losing that fight, he pulled a gun that was hidden under his shirt and twice shot the victim without remorse.”

Avoid, de-escalate, then run to safety if necessary/possible and stay there. Florida has a strong stand your ground law, but I don’t want to rely on it against a liberal prosecutor in front of an anti-gun judge.

Had to watch it the first time w/ no sound on. It was a lot different with the sound on. Snow or mattress is now the question.

And yeah, walking away seems like it would have been a better choice than engaging the neighborhood crazy guy.
