Strangely I didn't sweat the entire time I was out west in 100+ degree heat and I was just sitting outside drinking beer. Maybe the sweat all evaporated from the dry as fuk air. I step outside back home during August and am literally dripping in 3 mins.

Mine did exactly that. House was over 100° within a few hours. I had to stay somewhere else until the A/C guy fixed it the next day.

I did a summer out in phoenix for HVAC

Our vans ran 24/7 AC cranking and you had to wear gloves because your tools and the rooftops got untouchable

Good ass money but doing it long term wasn't an option

I watched roofers in the summer (every day was at least 112°) and by the end of the day they looked like zombies. Years off their lives.

I lived in Phoenix for about 3 years, and Palm Springs for 5 years before that. I love living in the desert, but it really does get oppressively hot in the Summer. The rest of the year is wonderful, though.

my AC broke down in the middle of summer in florida; that heat and humidity was unbearable. it wasnt a one day job either; the unit had to get replaced and took a few days to order and install. we were in the process of selling the house, so luckily we werent living in it at the time.

There is a fair near where I live where people live in cabins for a week and go out and watch horse races, visit with friends, stay hammered drunk for a week and have sex with strangers. These cabins have AC but most are shoddily built and everyone stays outside anyway. This fair is in the last week of July and the first week of August which is the hottest most humid time of year. After a couple days you just get used to being a sweaty mess and no one cares. At this fair I put pepsi on a girls bobs once and it developed a clay like consistency almost immediately due to all the sweat. My disappointment was immeasurable

When your AC breaks, you are immediately homeless. I noticed some of the houses near me have multiple AC units, the bigger places 3-4. I think that might be the way to go.

That's probably to do with the square footage more than backup units. Can't push more than about 3k where I live. Since AZ has a hotter temp it might only be 2k there

Phoenix will have relatively low dewpoint during the summer months, yes still hot as fuk but not oppressive like some parts of Texas or Florida.


Crazy thing is that the highest recorded dewpoints have been achieved in dessert areas. I think Saudi Arabia saw 95F once.
115F is oppressive regardless of humidity. Especially if you work outdoors

People moving from cooler areas and deciding to have lawns and allowing taps to flow properly doesn't help.
I would assume that is part of the reason why all the states in the area are becoming drier and drier with time.

Those original miners were hard as nails btw.

i live at the northeast end of town in the mountains at much higher elevation where its 7 or 8 degrees cooler so i'll be fine. thanks for being concerned about my well being though

Nevadacels HATE being second to AZ when it comes to being the hottest state. It's some sort of strange inferiority complex some people in Vegas have.

I had some proud nana dealing me cards at the Bellagio, she asked where I'm from and I told her AZ... I swear to god, she spent the entire time trying to one up AZ in every single way possible... BRB it rains LESS in Vegas. BRB it's HOTTER than Phoenix. BRB Vegas is BIGGER than Phoenix. BRB Vegas has a bigger economy than Phoenix. Vegas this, Vegas that. None of that was true too. Everything she gave Vegas "credit" over Phoenix for was in all reality the exact opposite. BRB bellagio has a crazy safe underground basement for terror/fire threats... She blew a fukking hole through my brain with her non stop pro-vegas banter... I wanted to tell her to STFU and deal so bad. Easily the worst dealer I've had.. Funny thing is hours later Vegas got hit with a nasty rain storm.. So much for it being dryer with less rain... Like I cared anyway.

I've also experienced the same at a Vegas spa when I got some lib dyke telling me how Vegas is the best.

Vegas people can be the worst and can suffer from major inferiority complex... By far THE WORST drivers in the United States. I though Phoenix had that title, no.. Vegas takes that one.
