Strangely didnt feel bad for either the kids or the mom.

I would have blasted them too. They would probably end up as future cartel members anyways.

One thing about the scene that seems petty but kinda bothers me is that the kids dont look like either of the parents. They could have casted better

The sequel was ass relative to the first one. Particularly the ending had me shaking my head. The first Sicario is top-tier, however.

Agree. In fact, I think all of Denis Villeneuve's are pretty bad. They look good but are very flawed with bad scripts.

John Brolin is so good at playing a smug azzhole in every single movie. I wonder if he's like that IRL or if he's just typecast.

Read Power of the Dog and The Cartel. There is a third book but Don Winslow let his TDS ruin it. Get a real feel for the Mexican drug kingpins.
