If you don't shoot guns, hunt, fish .......

I fish and shoot, but have never been hunting. I do find it interesting though; one day I will join my fam. Most of my family in Mississippi hunts, but they live much more rural lives. Different environments call for different skillsets so I don't hate on anyone. I'm sure you city guys would destroy me in figuring out the best routes to use public transport or maneuvering your way around the city. I get lost pretty much 10/10 times I go into town, mostly because with the construction, you can never take the same route twice seems like LOL

But yes, pretty much live solely on what I harvest.
Freezer has several hundred lbs of all kinds of critter in it. Bear, grouse, rabbit, fish, deer, moose, duck...
I will be starting to film my adventures soon and will hopefully have some video episodes to share showing my life and wild food to table.
I'll post it on misc first. Hope to have something to show in a few months if filming goes well.
Should watch some of them when I get them done.

I really need to have a go pro on me when I go up there. Bulls gather this time of year and I've been seeing them almost everytime I go up

I had a broken tool, so I welded a tab in the bottom of the custom aluminum transducer box I made, then cut the handle off the tool, took it apart like a clamshell and fastened just the tool handle to the aluminum tab. Then wired the pos and neg to a 12v connector, inline fuse, then to the garmin.
Basically used a tool handle to connect the battery to.
My garmin will operated from 10 to 20 volts. I found it will shut off at seven.
Am going to see if the big hilti 22 volt batteries will run it. If so, I'll add a tab and do the same with 22v batteries. That way I have my choice and can bring 22v batteries if I happen to need longer power.
As it is 4 Amp hr 12v batteries last 4 hrs each. Two gets me the day.
My hilti rep gives me broken tools for free. He is getting me a 22v damaged drill to use as a battery receptacle
I'd show a pic, but can't from here

Fish and shoot like metro but never been hunting. Good at fixing chit because I couldn’t pay anyone to do it when I was a broke student.
Would like to go hunting sometime though, jealous of everybody who gets to have access to that primo meat. I used to buy extra venison from processors when I was living full time in the south and it was hnnnggg. Issue is I travel a chit ton and life on the road means no easy access to a chest freezer

When you get to three feet of ice those guys can keep their cordless augers. I used a 120v electric a few weeks ago, but those are like 800 bucks I think. Hard pass
