Forums are from a time when the internet was less monopolised. The winner takes all in the current climate. We are here because it's what we know and this type of space has been barred from mainstream sites.. Reminds me UK went from analogue to digital television a few years ago there were still a few thousand parents of boomers who were paying for black and white TV licenses decades after colour TV.

I think we need to accept we are a 5k a day post forum, and focus on providing a great experience for the users that remain.

not sure if people are aware of letsrun.com forums, but its basically the running version of the misc. old school forum / trolls etc

its user involvement peaks early 2000s (about 10 years before the misc's peak), and the average poster there is easily 40 even 50s now.

however it provides a pretty quality experience (the website itself has decent content). It's still around

The Misc is for the desktop era. It never quite entered the smartphone/app era. The drop off beginning in 2014 shows that (that's the year mobile usage outgrew desktop usage). The Misc (bb.com) by 2013 should've had an app and a vastly updated forum.

It has a poverty early 2000s user interface. It needs to step up to be as convenient and user friendly as the other most used sites/apps. Using it on phone is a chore
