Lost my hero and the man I always looked up to, my Grandfather passed away

Not asking for reps or anything. Just appreciate and don't take anyone for granted in life, anyone that comes into it. He was my hero since I was a child, he taught me how to be a man and I love him.

If your grandparents, parents, etc is still alive be sure you tell them you love them as often as you can. Never know when they'll be gone. Don't ever forget to take time out of your day, no matter how busy life gets to remind them you never forget them. RIP

My condolences, that truly sucks. I never knew either of my grandfathers so I can’t imagine.

Atleast you got to meet your grandfathers i never even got a chance to meet them before they died. Both my grandmothers also died but i got a chance to spend time with them as a kid and to this day i think my moms mom was the best most amazing women in this world.

Having said that losing them didnt even come close to when my dad passed away. That really ****ed me up.

Sorry but you’re next, OP. Did you ever think about that? Your awesome grandfather is laying in the dirt now and you’re still walking the Earth for a very brief period. Have you ever faced your inevitable mortality? Eventually you’ll be gone, too.

But seriously, I extend my heartfelt wishes to you.

Sorry for your loss. It just makes you realize how fast life really is, and it's too short to not appreciate your family and tell them you love them.

I've dealt with 2 deaths in the last 5 years, the 2 people closest to me, the last one died afew weeks before this Xmas, I was waiting for someone older to show up and take charge, but then realized I was the next line of defense and noone was coming, and time marches on.

At least you took charge in a difficult time, presumably. That’s something you can hold on to.

Yes, life is scary. It was just yesterday that I was a child, not even knowing really what death was. Just never take anything for granted and be kind to all.

My grandfather died when I was 9 but he was my world. I can relate. I hope you find peace. I'm sure he would want you to be a good man, so do that.

Comforted my grandma last year while she died and I'm sure my grandpa or other grandma will be next. Not an enjoyable experience but it's nice to be able to be there for them as they pass away. Sorry for your loss OP. Just have to remember the good times

Sorry for your loss opie. Both of my blood grandpa's are still alive but neither had that grandpa relationship with us growing up. The one treats everyone he knows as an acquaintance. He's a good man, but just never forged a close bond. The other had no qualms about treating his favorite grandkids better than the rest of us.

The one man who was truly my "grandpa" was my mom's mom's third husband. He was everything a boy could ever want in a grandpa. WW2 vet, taught me a lot of things. They got married a month before I turned 9 in 1991 and he died in 2016. Treated my brother and I every bit as equal as his two blood grandsons. I very much miss that man.
