Lmfao feeling absolutely no sympathy whatsoever.
Also grew up poor, no house no car single mother blah blah, but I decided I wasn't going to let my mother keep working past her 50's. Worked full-time thru undergrad so I didn't have to get loans and kissed every ass I could to have a decent job lined up before graduation. Finally bought my mother a new car, and working on a house in the next six months. Kind of eats at me that she even pointed at her parents' mortgage as an excuse for her own failure.
Has the nerve to say she did everything right. It's incredible how instead of working on getting out of the hole, she chooses to wallow inside it.

And working hard does give you good results most times, we all know this. I think the biggest advice/tip that's turned out to have a low return, is the "Work 1 job for 40 years, retire happy" When it's clear that we're in the multiple income stream era. IF we're trying to get financial freedom in our 30s/early 40s 1 job isn't going to cut it, whereas before in the "old days" 1 job could cover a family, house and a pup.

STEM is pretty overfilled in my home country. Likewise long waits to get into trade programs in the schools. Even for Nurses: you hear of a lot of them having to be a "travel nurse" for the initial years.
The reality is the number of jobs is pretty much on the decline in society whether due to them actually disappearing and more lower class types trying to move up.

It's no longer working for millions of people.
It's a country where money/class really decides your future.
Not race like the system/media/elites are trying to tell people to fool them.
In most first world countries, in Europe and now even Asia, you're guaranteed an education for nearly free, if you just work hard.
The only way to **** up in those systems, is to be not talented and be pushed towards lesser education & trades.
But you have no excuse not to succeed.
In America (and UK to an extent), it's really about class & money.
Education is TOP NOTCH though if you can pay for it.
But tons of people just can't move forward because they are blocked by financial walls.
At the same time, you have trust fund kids who have access to education & schools, that open all doors for them.
And they don't have to sweat for it. Its guaranteed.
And most Americans are totally ignorant of this ****, on both sides of the spectrum, but Republicans/Conservatives are worse on this and still think this country is a "work hard and get rewards" kind of country and everything is just about the individual.

I don't know what to think to be honest. So many people have listened to the wrong people and believed what they are told in how they are "supposed" to make it, and it doesn't work for everyone. She's doing something wrong and being told by these talking heads that it's the only way to do things.
I don't get why people get a college degree in a field in which they have never even worked a single day in it? So she said she's into nursing. My GF has no degree, she is a patient care tech. She's only been in it a few months and already doing okay. She takes training whenever she can get it. It will probably be another year before she starts making really decent money but my point is she doesn't need a degree to do it. Probably down the line she will go to school to get here LPN and such but as she goes in she already has a lot of skills and experience. My point is how these people get these degrees and yet don't actually know what they are doing. Trying to go into advanced level when they haven't even figured out the basics. Just like as a mechanic, I see these kids that just graduated some tech school's automotive program and they think they should be technicians and they haven't even changed oil or tires before. So they came and get real upset when they get put in the oil pit. Most of them don't last, they get mad and usually end up leaving the field. We have let a couple come and actually try to do real mechanic work and holy hell what a disaster that usually was.

The most troublesome aspect to me is when youre 18, getting no money elsewhere, work a chitty job and expect to support yourself. I think most people arent expected to support themselves
But when youre making 250 dollars a week for 40 hours and expected to pay bills its IMPOSSIBLE. 50 dollars for gas, 50 dollars for groceries/ week youre now at 600 dollars/ month left only paying 2 bills. Not enough for rent. Literally impossible to "save" as you cant even pay your bills
