What happened to the flu?

As a pharmacist, I have not given any flu vaccines in weeks nor have I dispensed any tamiflu.

My tech's theory is that since people are masking up and social distancing, it's preventing people from contracting the flu virus. Then why is covid cases increasing? haha. What's happened to the flu? did covid cure flu?

Go.
Trust me, I am a pharmacist.

Every other disease has been put on hold. Every death will be tallied as Covid-19. I thought you got the memo OP. Cancer? On hold. Virus? On hold. Hell I even have STD on the phone and I told him he's on hold as we speak.

Inlfuenza hasn't gone anywhere, reported Covid contractions are hyper-inflated on the news due to the inaccurate PCR swabs that have been handed out like candy

We have people coming through to get swabbed every 3 days for free, out of fear

I've seen roughly a 50% inaccuracy rate because it's 99% sensitive

There's at least 40 common pathogens that will flag a false-positive under a low viral load, many of which you carry inside you at all times(like the Rhino virus)

tl;dr without antibody testing done in a lab, providers are just guessing which of the dozens of respiratory infections you might have

Layman's theory is that since kids are home, there is less of it.
Just about every time I got sick over the last 5 years, the gf's neice or nephews gave it to me. With my closest friends, it was their kids or someone's kids on a play date spreading that chit around.

Cliffs: kids

We do covid testing at my pharmacy and according to the manufacture, there is 50% accuracy for false negative but 90% accuracy on true positives. It's testing for the covid antigen so not sure how you can miss it unless it's SARS related virus. Weird.
Trust me, I am a pharmacist.

The manufacturer is lying to you to sell the pharmacy more tests

The accuracy is 50% at absolute best while being 99% sensitive due to it being molecular

The problem is all those pathogens are in the same "family" which is why the infections mimic each other

PCR swabs are virtually worthless for identifying what to treat

PCRs supposed to be more accurate. How can you be so sure that they're lying? haha

The flu was renamed Covid. I read yesterday, children who get the flu shot are immune to Covid.

Covid has nearly the same effects as the flu...but I doubt the diagnosis would EVER be wrong.

Go.
Why take a vaccine that is only 35% effective when you can take a vaccine that is 94% effective, but not needed.
