I'm sure more people die every year from texting-while-driving related automobile collisions but I don't see anyone standing on their head trying to prevent those from happening. Because guns are scary and automobile deaths are just "accidents".

The ultimate goal should be to save as many lives as possible, not just prevent a handful of scary stuff to make mom's feel better.

Guns are an easy boogey man for the stupid masses.
