Dating is the opposite of how I thought it would be (srs)

When I was younger (before the age of 15) I thought the man’s role in dating was to seek out a woman and it was the woman’s job to hope to be picked and feel lucky if a guy picks her.

In reality it’s the complete opposite. Men put themselves out there like in a job interview and hope some woman will like him enough to go out with him. Most of the time (unless they’re Chad) they get turned down, cheated on, dumped etc and left to lick their wounds.

This hardly ever seems to happen to women. Most divorces are initiated by women and most breakups are initiated by women. Most of the time, they just get “bored”.

So many ways in which the world is different to how I thought it was when I was younger

Dont even consider getting into a relationship with a girl unless it’s clear that you are in the driving seat and she wants you slightly more than you want her or the same at a very minimum.

Except for South East Asia - it doesn't get that much better in the 3rd world if you relocate there.

Was in Eastern Europe for 2 years where every western male by default is 10x to 60x wealthier than a local male. And yet the local women still ghost us and play friendzone games with us like they have some better option on the backburner.



Now South East Asia is a bit of an outlier in the world especially if you're white. I had women stalk me from outside and bang on my apartment door asking to come in to meet me (serious). I likewise had women approach the front desk asking for my contact info because they wanted to meet me. I don't think Chads get that in the west but maybe Gigachads might - the Chads of Chads like the Shah of Shahs.

add to that the cheating which one party rationalises and often successfully convinces the other isn't cheating

'talking' to guys/girls as 'friends'. sharing personal details about your life/events which should be reserved for your partner only. venting to that person about your partners flaws, arguments you've had.

basically anything which your SO would be upset by is cheating imo, assuming they aren't insane/unreasonably jealous

A) in your youth live your life for yourself to enjoy and wait to settle down but you take the risk of not being able to find a good husband later and maybe not have healthy kids.

B) use your youth to find the best husband possible and have kids young so they are healthy as possible.
I can feel my anxiety growing after reading this post. it is something i´ve been avoiding to read about, because it scares me.

I was actually thinking about freezing my eggs and trying to keep my appearance as nice as possible even tho I will get older, I also have this irrational thought that what if I settle with someone who seems perfect at a certain point in time and then someone even better comes along and the second one is my soulmate

wtf will I do then ?

Social media, porn, explicit TV shows/movies have really destroyed the mystique and intimacy of love and sex. Media constantly show sex and relationships as something that is only worth in large quantities (and sizes), rough, aggressive, experimental, no limits, you deserve the best, cuck your spouse if need be etc.
