DFW: 3 Degrees Fahrenheit and No Lights or Heat

Sitting in my car warming it up. Wondering if I should leave my faucets dripping or try to turn off the water.

Thought I would try to find a hotel with power. Just heard the guys on a local station say they are only on the air because they got a generator up and running.

Definitely drip your faucets. Busted pipes are no joke and if there's no heat to your house, there's nothing to prevent them from freezing

Stay safe southern misc.

Not quite that bad, but knocking the snow off my car was long enough for my hands to start hurting even with gloves.

I would really like a cup of coffee.

Just heard we are supposed to be on 45 minute rotating outages, but the houses across the street have power. For some reason ours goes out a lot even though we have buried lines.

We were first out at around 2:30 am.

Exactly.

I’ve been through enough hurricanes and I know not having a generator sucks ass. Got rid of the 7k portable for a whole home standby a couple years ago. I’m spoiled, lol. No running all those dam extension cords through the house.

DFW checking in too. Woke up at 3 am and noticed my power out, has not been on since. The 45 minute controlled outages is clearly bullsh*t.

I love this for you.

In all srsness, stay safe. Why doesn’t Dallas own a few salt trucks for emergencies? It does snow there every few years. I think it’d be a wise investment. Unlike, say, Phoenix where they’d never be used.

The roads are one thing but I think the power outages are ridiculous. Fully prepared for this to go on for the entire week. I'd be surprised if I even get power back before Thursday at this point, that's how little faith I have at the moment.

Just wrap up and stay under blankets, lmao

Not cost effective and "a few" trucks is going to do nothing. You either have a road fleet or you don't.
