A complete spare FCG of your choice, could be as simple as the mil-spec or whatever a firearm came with before you subbed in a better one.
Complete BCG
Complete buffer and spring

Used to be pretty cheap (relatively)but parts have gone up a bit due to demand.

Virtually all of us are ammo limited, not guns.Maybeparts if we have only one complete rifle and no spares, because then you never know.
But if a guy has say 2 complete functioning AR type firearms, a spare LPK, BCG, and buffer/springs...and a dozen magazines...that guy is ammo limited because he probably doesn't have even 10k rounds (figure a real conservative 5k rounds per rifle for the first couple rifles).
It's just all about the ammo
I guess that's what I'd put out there. Two complete rifles/arms, LPK, BCG, buffer and springs, a dozen good magazines, and 10k rounds ammo. Until you have more ammo than that, it's about ammo...not a third rifle. And even then I'd go PC and plates to that list before a third rifle.
Edit: This is for a shooter, for somebody who wants to be good with the rifle and not sitting at a bench at 100 yards, someone who owns and uses a shot timer, looks up drills to run online, takes classes and not first steps/basics classes.
For a person who collects, might be they are good with 1-2k rounds per rifle. One can maintain a minimum level of proficiency for 400-500 rounds per year.

I have ammo for the next year or so.
Definitely not buying any right now when everything is a $1 per round. Not poor I could afford it buts it’s just stupid right now.
If it gets worse I’ll cross that bridge later. Gucci for now. Shoot every week btw. All kinds of drills and shot timers.
But hey I don’t hate on bench rest shooters, sometimes it’s fun to relax to shoot some groups. Don’t have to go all tactical Timmy every range trip.

The nice thing I will admit about 'extra' guns is they can just sit there with minimal maintenance and be fine, they hold value very well too. So it's not like there is much effort to owning more.
I don't collect but I do have a list of guns I want, down to just a few.
45-70 lever action
.22LR rifle (probably a 10/22)
Side by side coach gun
4 barrel derrigner style gun for the lols
Maybe a .338 lapua but that's likely not going to happen.
A rolling block style gun just for the fun of shooting that is also a maybe.

That is very nice indeed. Guns are a durable good, they both handle regular use without significant degradation (generally, varies) and can be stored for literally decades with extremely few considerations. Spend 5-10 minutes cleaning and protecting it, keep it climate controlled...forget about it. And they do hold their value quite well, especially if they are complete factory stock from a major manufacturer and stay that way. Hell don't even have to store climate controlled if you put enough protection on them

Instead of buying ammo/training ima get some Nods and IR lasers. Flex on the poors on da gram. They’ll never know I only use them at night after I put the kids to bed to larp around my playroom and play with my cat.
Can cats see IR lasers with the naked eye since they have built in night vision ? Only one way to find out.
