Y’all see that new Walther? It’s a full size gun so not sure how it’s different from a PPQ.

-19* F actual is a whole different level of mother fuking cold for virtually everybody in the lower 48

Yesterday's low in both of those cities: Less cold than in Arkansas

That is a big factor too. States that far south, like AR, it would be a retarded ass waste of money to purchase, store, and maintain the equipment and supplies needed to clear roads in that kind of weather. It's a huge part of the budget and logistics and all that at all government levels up north, but in GA or TN or AR or TX...nope. So when the rare extreme record setting winter storm comes through, it just sucks for awhile lol

You don't have the plows and salt and brine and all that ready to go there, nor should you. When this happens, everybody 'non essential' (lol) just takes a few days off

Nah- with a good barrel, and some skill - you can go pretty far with some basic chit.

You done need a super round either -you can do a lot with a .308 win, 300 win mag, etc - 6.5 cream looks interesting.

I've been looking at the Springfield waypoint in 6.5 PRC

For .338 you could just fine with a Savage Arms 110 BA Stealth under $1500, and a mediocre optic.

With my cheapo Savage in 6.5 creedmor and the 3-9x Bushnell optic that came with it does fine to 600 or so yards, probably could do further if I was a better shot. The gun itself can get to 1000 yards+, the optic and my skill is the weak points. Paid $500 after all fees for it, so not a bad entry level gun, and 6.5 is ~$0.80-1.20 per round.

The South doesn’t have the same equipment / infrastructure to deal with the snow like northern states.

Trucks to salt roads, plows etc.

Are guns going up a lot in price too or is it mostly ammo? Maybe I should sell some stuff if so. What's a good way? I have to go to ffl in my state to complete the transaction regardless (no private sales). How bad do they get you on consignment? Armslist any good now or do people just lowball like when I tried selling there a few years ago? Got offers of like 1/3rd my asking price which I said was my lowest

Prices spiked hard in March-May or so on guns and ammo, gun prices have pretty much lingered at a slight increase with stock being more of an issue than the price for buyers.

Ammo on the other hand, fcked. Price and in many cases stock levels are an issue.

Which state are you in?

Gun prices are meh

It's not time to sell guns or mags

Unless it's a Gen3 Glock or some other not-so-new gun being sold into CA for a premium. I had no problem selling my ca 2009 G19.3 to CA for $700

For awhile the gen 5s were going for $1200+, tempted me to flip a few but not worth a visit from the ATF for a few hundred profit. Still see them go regularly for $1000 or so.

I had some reservations about buying an upper with some proprietary ****, but my search for a suppressor host led me to some PWS MK111 PRO uppers that were in stock for a couple of hours. Snagged one of them.

PWS is good stuff, right?

I’ve read good things about them.

I always read about people having gas problems with suppressed AR’s but that hasn’t been my experience. I have a 11.5 BCM and don’t have an adjustable gas block and I haven’t had an issue. I can feel it a little bit doesn’t bother me enough to change anything. But that being said I haven’t been mag dumping cause ammo shortage.

Some people think piston AR’s are a gimmick others seem to love them.

I prefer piston for various reasons, but top is being able to use a folding stock with no issues and shoot folded if I feel like it. Not that it's all that practical to do so, but it's fun. Does throw the balance off, more weight forward of the gun.

But come on, blasting with a folded stock is too damn fun.

Biggest issue with my Arak is rail space, limited by that so it's a bit cluttered now with a QD sling mount, light, and pressure pad. Works fine for me, but guys with bigger hands have some problems working the charging handle.

Haven’t had any good discussions lately:

I’ll go : I haven’t staked my castle nut on one of my AR’s and it’s been fine for thousands of rounds.

Will I get slotted first in the boog unless I sacrifice my castle nut to the staking gods?

Built myself a folding stock (brace) lower recently actually. Just have a .22lr upper on it right now but was wanting to eventually get a shorty Sig rattler 300aac (or something similar) if ammo ever goes back to normal.

Agree it’s just cool.

That being said the PWS guns still require a buffer tube so can’t fold those.

It's not time to sell guns or mags

Unless it's a Gen3 Glock or some other not-so-new gun being sold into CA for a premium. I had no problem selling my ca 2009 G19.3 to CA for $700
The AK market is hotter than the ar15 market post sandy hook. They can't keep stamped receiver zpaps in stock at $1200. They're selling for $1,500 now. You don't even want to know what bakelite and some other surplus mags are going for.....

Glock supply has caught up a little with the demand but there is still a premium price for them which is often more than retail

I still don't think we're in peak ammo yet. I personally wouldn't be selling a single round even if I had 10k of a single caliber. The 22 shortage took 4ish years to normalize

Hey, if you can get 40% more than your original brand new price, on a gun that's over 10 years old and has thousands of rounds through it, and is superceded by superior newer gens...absolutely, sell it

Sell the Gen3 Glock for $700 and buy a new Gen 5 with night sights and 3 mags for like $550. Why would younot do that? lol

Definition of meh lol

If you could get $700 for the gun by itself, no magazines, no ammo, no holster, just the gun...that would be time to sell.

I am happy to not GAF what kind of ripoff the AK market is right now.

I was actually going to finally pull the trigger on a 14.5" super duty last night...but my 20% coupons decided to expire recently apparently. Damn.

Oh well, I got two super duties at 35% off so, I guess that'll have to do. But no 14.5 was out yet...damn
