Good. I did a couple of combat tours to get my college money. I would have been pissed.

You're assuming that all of that was actually spent on school. The way it works is that you can borrow far more than required for tuition. The bank sends all the money to the school, and they "rebate" any excess back to the student. Theoretically, this is for room and board, but there is no requirement that the student actually use it for that. When I worked at a university, you could always tell when it was rebate time by all the bling that instantly appeared on campus. New phones, laptops, jewelry, etc.

Another failed promise by Biden. I doubt he will even get $15 minimum wage passed, healthcare reform or anything else. Seems like he just wants the same old thing as before.

Hopefully his admin can expediate vaccine distribution though. Getting rid of covid would be one good thing.

I wonder how many US nurses would be cool with an extreme pay cut.

For now.

He still wants to get rid of $10k student loans due to COVID, without it helping people who went to yuppee ritsy overpriced private schools out of stupidity.

I paid off all my student loans already, which was worth $17k after interest would be factored in, so I hope I myself get a nice $10k into my checking tax free. I don't think that will happen though.

But people doing Gender Studies? Nah. Absolutely not. You pick a Mickey Mouse degree then you deserve the consequences.

In the Uk we have a massive need for UK based doctors and nurses, I honestly think if people could go into those fields and get their student loans forgiven if they enter our NHS then we would not have to rely on foreign applicants.
Going to college and getting a degree in anything means you are EDUCATED. A degree consist of many credit hours in different subjects that makes you a well rounded educated person.

A problem I see is this:

1. Teaching isn't effective because many students leave school forgetting everything they learned or they don't comprehend what they are learning. Many student's personal lives are too hectic for them to absorb in information effectively.

2. Once they graduate, there isn't enough high paying jobs for the skill level.

Its because of point one, that the importance of degrees are water down nowadays. Because if graduates were better learners, they would apply that skill effectively to whatever job they hold. That includes flipping burgers.

How many libtards went wild when they first thought the loans would be forgiven, racking up more debt, stopped making payments.

Biden was not really ever on board with the socialist dems like AOC...kind of surprised that Schumer and Pelosi are pushing that. They didn't seem the socialist type, but here we go. New chapter for the dems.

The one hope I have with these lefty socialist nutjobs, is that they brink back bankruptcy for all Student Loans, Gov backed and private.

That will make the greedy bankers think twice about loaning so much for worthless degrees and really help people who are in serious financial distress.
