Discuss the dumbest covid prevention measures you've seen IRL
1 - "Pen transations" banned from deliveries. Most places want you to tip ahead of time without signing any paper now. Fine, but entirely pointless. brb delivery guy still handing you fkn food, what difference does it make if he hands you a pen, or you use your own pen, unless their hand hygiene is downright awful?
2 - Gloves for all fast food workers - when literally handling food, fine, I get it. Hut wtf do gloves do for someone handling money and cards all day? Thanks for washing your hands basically never because the gloves make you feel nice while you still spread germs all over everything you touch.
3 - Taco Bell using a plastic bin tupperware to hand food over to customers at drive throughs. It only works for bagged food at drive throughs (not drinks, etc), and they're still using the same dirty gloves/hands that touched a hindred other people's germs around you and transfering it to the tub as well. Absolutely ridiculous concept, tbh.
4 - Social distancing of "6 - 12 ft". We've been doing this bullchit for a year now, yet the most restrictive places like Cali are getting roasted worse than far less restricted places like Florida. brb can't sit down to eat in full capacity restraurants. brb can't go to a gym without absurd distancing rules. But spending 30+ minutes shopping in packed big box chains has been totally fine the entire time.
5 - Masks. Same as the social distacing crap. All science before covid indicated basic masks wearing did almost nothing for stopping areosolyzed viral transmission from asymptomatic healthy people. Results since covid indicate that mask mandates were completely worthless, but yet no end in sight to them. Instead they are literally doubling and tripling down by asking us to wear extra masks at the same time.
6 - Being vaccinated means nothing with how you get to act socially. brb I've gotten both doses of one of the vaccines based on my job, but it's still "just 2 more years of masks and socal distancing, bro". Assuming not getting sick wouldn't help shield others around you from the disease defies all conventional wisdom that has always shown that a drastic reduction in viral load (both individually and on a mass scale) makes even non-vaccinated people less likely to get sick. I.e. we are on the cusp of attaining some mass serious herd immunity via mass vaccination combined with naturally built immunities, yet they act like this bs needs to be the "new norm" indefinitely.

Wear a mask except when eating.
Mask is even retarded.
Remember, china only had 4k deaths and makes most of the masks and gloves we buy up. (I dont buy chinese ever though)

I live near a college town - a major university - where the college kids pack into a cluster of bars a few nights a week. They are all crammed in these bars from about 10:30 til 2:00 AM when they close.
The mayor/ city council decided this activity was spreading Covid so in their infinite wisdom they mandated an 11:00 PM closing time for bars and restaurants, thinking this would keep the college kids at home.
The result? Now the college kids just cram into the same bars from 8:00 til 11 instead, then cram into house parties after the bars close.
So the end result is the same.
But the city still believes - wE aRe sToPpiNg cOviD
It really just illustrates how inept and ineffectual government is anyway.

In order to comply with the harsh regulations here, a colleague and I would wear those ridiculous face shields at first, so that we wouldn't risk some fine if some bylaw dude walked in and felt trigger happy with his fining. After a while, we both discussed how we're in the same office and touch the same stuff, so that face shield is worthless. Now, we don't use any precautions.

I’ll go ahead and say that injecting an experimental untested vaccine that can alter your DNA is by far the dumbest

Then again - I'm not a virologist.
Also, lol'd at crews. Those are quintessentially misc crews. Congratulations.

Hiking out in the woods, women wearing masks see me and jog off of the trail 20 feet to let me pass. Fkn unbelievable.
This whole thing has really made me struggle not to despise normies for being so stupid. I have to remind myself 20 times a day, "Don't blame the victims, don't blame the victims, don't blame the victims."

Anonymous report lines for ANYONE to call in complaints that count as strikes against your business for “violations” with no fair investigation or process. No evidence, etc.. if your business received CARES act funding they now switch it from a forgivable loan to high interest and fine you.

I’m in Rio and here is pretty relax, restaurants are full no capacity limits, but wait, you can only have a MAX of 8 people per table or else they get a fine.
BRB get a table of 8 and then maybe a foot distance or 2 ft distance , get another table with 3 more people.
Comical as fuk

Some Japanese media tested N95 masks and they only reduce the chance of you getting Covid by 80%. Obviously the surgical masks or the homemade masks are even worse than these.
No idea why English Media isn't telling us the truth: that if you're old, fat or an old fat phuck THEN STAY HOME. Everybody else can pretty much go outside and live life. I still haven't seen one news story of a fit person under 40 dying of it.

Social distancing at the airport but filling the plane to max capacity
Requiring a mask to walk into the restaurant but being able to remove it once seated
Tables spaced 6 ft apart at restaurants but then everyone uses the same bathroom
People driving alone in their cars but still wearing a mask
People going out for a walk with nobody within 100 yards of them, once again wearing a mask

False. I've done like 5 international flights or something since the pandemic started. I think I only had 1 empty seat next to me but otherwise the plane was 90%+ capacity on each flight.
Saw some old boomber who felled asleep, chin diaper, mouth wide open, snoring and nobody was waking him up to tell him to mask up

Funny how the places that don't give a chit about it are doing the best. Dumbfuks really didn't think we should have let it burn through our entire population. Instead they make sure it goes by slowly so that nobody builds up any immunity before it mutates. Lol just lol.
