Like I said, brake pad change are fine if you are some what mechanically inclined(7/10). If lower than that you need take it to a shop or do some serious research before tackling it.

If you really can't do it, just watch a youtube video on your vehicle. It's a very basic job, and a basic socket set and c clamp will get the job done. Jacking up a car and placing it on a jack stand should be a requirement to pass a driver's license test.

JFL at taking your car in so some scumbag mechanic can purposefully fuk your car up and tell you it came that way, fix it and make you pay, all because business was slow that day. Go watch those undercover videos where they put mini cameras all under the hood, and record scumbags breaking chit and lying to customers and making them pay thousands. It's a widespread problem.

Agreed.
Got quoted $750 for brakes & rotors once.
I LMAO'd in the guys face, drove to AutoZone, paid $35 for pads, and did it myself in 25 minutes.
Brb, essentially paying myself $1450/hr to do my own brakes.

I would literally rather pay someone 600$ (what it cost me last time) to do my breaks than do it myself, and I absolutely know how. I used to do it when I was younger and far more poverty. I used to change my own oil back then too.. Now I sit in my car while someone else gets all fuking dirty doing it for me, shoving food into my face and browsing the misc.
But like.. my whole drive to make more money stems from the fact that I absolutely don't want to do that type of chit myself, because fuk getting dirty when I can pay someone else to get dirty for me.
Nothing about outdoor work or fixing cars is vital to "Growing as a man". You can take pride in anything you do (and should). Again, if you enjoy it, go wild, but acting like people who don't do it themselves are less of a man is stupid ape think.

95% of people taking their car in to get brakes done don't know how to do it themselves and are too afraid to learn because of scarecels saying its a life or death situation. You'd have to be a buffoon to fuk em up for basic cars. I'm also serious about scumbag mechanics purposely messing up your car and making you pay to have it fixed. Im a conspiracycel so i just like to do things myself when i can.

I did it once while converting from full time to manual locking hubs. That was about 4 years ago. Might need to do the brakes again this year lol.

If you can’t afford a $500 brake job and are trying to “save” on something you do every 5 years then you shouldn’t even have a car....
