Are you guys lifting with a mask on?
Am I just being a wuss about this. It’s been a year and I’ve pretty much lost my gains. I’m really down in the dumps about it. How do I adjust to this crap? Everytime I try to get back into the gym I just get frustrated cause of this mask BS and how weak I am now.
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

I’m serious guys I’m really down in the dumps about this, bodybuilding is large part of my life even though I never competed and I did have plans to do my first show last year before this all started and I’ve basically gone a whole year without lifting

No, I do not. Most people at several gyms that I’ve visited do not as well.

Best thing is to just start back up again, go light for a few weeks so you don’t get overly sore and quit whining about the mask surgeons and anesthesiologists wear them for 15+ straight during big cases and they’re alpha as fuk, cherry

Lifting for the first time in over 2 months tomorrow and Uni gym now has a strict mask on at all times policy that I’m 100% certain they’re going to enforce, still gonna lift though. Going 2 months without the gym even though I don’t even take it seriously has felt like chit tbfh.

I figure that even if I only wear it say 50% of the time that would still reduce my exposure by 50% so it’s worth it.
I’m switching to a big commercial gym soon though that enforces mask mandates so I’ll be wearing it 100% there.

We're required to wear them but I just pull it down when doing heavy compound lifts or cardio. Otherwise it's not really a big deal and you get used to it.
Be thankful your gyms open, ours just opened back up again after another 3 month lockdown. And lots of peoples gyms are still closed.

My gym made masks mandatory to wear the entire time you're in there about 2-3 months ago. It sucks but you get used to it. You can also pull it down for brief periods to get air or drink. Try going during off times when it's not crowded and you'll have more leeway with pulling it down for bits to get air. I think the loose mask idea is good as well. Just get back in there and you'll get used to it.
