Anyone else think the economy is going to explode this summer?
Personal savings in the US are at an all time high (33% of yearly income)
People are rearing to go back to work and travel and visit with friends
1.9 trillion stimulus with $1400 checks hasn't even hit yet
Almost every asset at an all time high meaning people will feel richer and spend more
Most weak small businesses have gone under meaning the ones that survived will have no competition
Record demand for cars, housing, microchips, furniture
It's one of those things you can just feel...everyone feels more optimistic and is just waiting for summer. Roaring 20's?

Just lol if you haven't been investing in cruise lines and budget airlines. I invested in Carnival, JetBlue, and Spirit. Once the pandemic dies down, people are gonna flock to the cruises and to the budget airlines to get their pleasure travel fixes.
Never neg first but always neg back crew

No, OP. You're the only one who came up with this insight. The stock market pricing in an increase in pent-up demand for months now and the steepening of the yield curve are mere coincidences, for only you are smart enough to be thinking along these lines.

Collapse in 12-18 months.

The stimmy will make poor people worse off
Every asset is overpriced
Weak businesses are thriving due to free government money
All the demand for the consumables you listed come from China which makes the US worse off since we don't produce anything, housing is only "in demand" because of the stop loss on interest rates from the fed and the supply is short because no one is being evicted/foreclosed on.
I think the only thing of the 20's that will be familiar is the similarities between today and 1929+

The Fed basically decides when this party ends. As long as they keep pumping money, cash is going to remain worthless and that new Monopoly money is going to keep flooding into assets. When rates raise, the asset bubbles detonate. So the Fed is now locked into a game of chicken with a pending recession.
