Need to buy a car for when things open up - thoughts on this one (pics)?

Know nothing about cars - want either a black Mercedes or black audi

Work will pay for mileage (which will more than cover car payment) and gas

This one is a 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class 4MATIC New Tires/New Brakes! with 43k miles (is that a lot?)

Costs USD28,000

Which CLA?? Also try to avoid those cuz they are sort of entry level-ish and basic. Try to look for E classes brah, can be a little older too.

Do you really need a car?

Are you sure that the payments from work will fully cover all costs (incl. parking in the city)?

I would agree with the other guy that you are generally better off going for a slightly older, but higher spec model.

IDK how it is in Canada, but entry BMW/AUDI/BENZ are perceived as feminine cars, because they're like any other car with a badge that carries a $10-15k price tag.

You can get the same car in Toyota for $15k cheaper, and if you want luxury, you can get the same car in a Genesis for $10k cheaper.

In the US BMW/AUDI/BENZ are losing their appeal quick, other countries will soon follow. Unless you're talking about a real performance car of course

It’s mutual fund wholesaling

You cover a large territory and have to drive around to meetings to cover your clients who are often in rural parts of the country

Every company pays for mileage/gas

Some guys actually drive beaters and make money from the mileage lol

Lol I don’t think you understand

I don’t have an office job. Like I said work pays for mileage and my job involves covering a massive territory and driving to meetings sometimes 4 hours away and staying a few days in that city/town

How am I going to get to a meeting in the middle of southwestern Ontario?

Hitch hike? Take a greyhound? $300 Uber to London ON?

I’d actually make money on mileage doing that

But it’s a lot of driving - I wanna be comfortable

Imagine being retired at 40 or having rental income and not having to work

You have to be low IQ to waste your money on something like a deprciating asset like a car

Work pays for the car ...it’s not my own money I’m spending ...is this concept that hard for you lol

A large part of the job is driving ... I’d rather not do a 3-4 hour drive in some pos

The job pays over 250k

Always took you for a BMW guy. The Audi A5 is obviously the superior car, it really mogs the CLA size-wise and is a decent long-distance car. If you go the VW route lookout for the Arteon.

Black color in Canada in the winter... Good luck brah, you will be washing it every day.

The newere toyotas have almost all the features that the german cars have.

Legit rav 4 are coming with phucking lane assist/blind spot etc while 60k german cars dont have that.

Brad... imagine buying a chitbox condo in 5.0 for 600k. Imagine actually getting equity in a home. That should guide your decision while you decide on a car.
That is all

Having an extra 300 in my pocket every month isn’t going to be the difference between owning a home or not lol wtf

Earning an extra 5k per month will move the needle tho ....

Are you one of those guys who makes like 60k per year and lives like a peasant?

At my absolute worst pepsi was 200/month lol

Rent sucks but it’s the price you have to pay to live in the city and work in a certain role, live a certain lifestyle

What’s the alternative? Go work in rural Canada for 1/4 as much but pay a 1/4 in rent

It all evens out

I actually wouldn’t buy a car if work wasn’t paying for it
