Tracking macros is overrated

Just make sure to get like 2-3 chicken breasts worth of protein and then get 2-3 more sources. If you gain too much fat then just lay off the starch or fat. Not that hard.

It's not like over eating protein is going to make you fat like lol. Easy choice lean stuff or not if you want, play it by ear. I'm really sensitive to fat it starts to weigh down my appetite like rocks in the stomach, but grease is grease.

If your ****s are frequent and huge you're in a surplus.

Pebbles/pallets less frequently you're in a defect.

I think it's underrated. Especially if you're not weighing your food. brb eyeballing 150 calories but really its double that cause i didn't weight the meat.

Only time it's not really necessary is when you're damn near eating the same meals for weeks, possibly months and you already know the numbers in your head.

It's actually underrated tbh.

Edit:

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Double that lol okay.

It's true I guess people don't want to keep track, I think that's what Greg Doucette said, but I just remember how much food with protein I've eaten.

Activity levels change daily and so does your calorie needs. Only real reason to count if you want to get shredded to step on stage. To lose weight it’s pretty simple unless you want to get below 8% which is pretty unreasonable and unattainable for long periods.

What does activity levels changing have to do with being completely unaware with how much you're eating? Btw, odds are your activity levels changing is going to be fairly small, whereas if you don't track what you're eating you can easily eat 500+ more calories than you needed pretty regularly.

Unless you go on a rigorous hike, or spend all day outdoors playing sports.... something obvious as f*ck that you clearly were more active.... your typical day to day calories burned really won't be anything significant I hate to tell you.

I kind of enjoy tracking them though. All goes into an app and I can look at progress over the past weeks. It also helps me learn general nutrition of various foods and IME helps with cravings because I know if I cheat I'll feel like **** entering it in later.

Also I see this thread every week, are you sure people are overrating it?

Spittin knowledge here ^^^

To add, tracking macros is extremely important for most people. Have you seen how fuking fat our country is? People aren’t dedicated to making healthy choices. Holding yourself accountable to tracking macros is a big start to getting to a healthy weight and maintaining it. No health coach worth their salt would ever have anyone not track their calories and macros. Listen to guys like the Mindpump podcast. Everything in diet starts with tracking and cutting out the bad ****.

I stand by double, especially if it condiments like mayo or mustard. Anyone whose weighed out mayo on a spoon knows that's not the amount regular people use to make their sandwiches or whatever they use it for. But if you remember how much food you've had with protein then you're good to go

I can see how people don't want to, it's kinda tedious at first plus when you do track you see food as moreso of fuel, wondering if you'll be at a surplus, etc.

I learned about counting as part of losing weight in general via calorie deficit, etc. And It's how people see fitness. If it's a lifestyle, then likely macros is in the equation to track nutrients(no chit right?) But like you said, if it's just for losing weight, counting macros isn't really needed

I heard even at 9% it's unattainable, but that's a goal i'm looking to hit just to said i've been there before, etc. 10% I think can be held down

Tracking macros or eating only bro foods like it was 2009, All of this sheet is completely overrated, just like bodybuilding culture in general. Just be active and lift, and eat reasonably healthy and enjoy your freaking life

Nice avi. I think that it is underrated. I counted calories every time i got where I wanted to be aesthetics wise.

It actually feels better to count calories too, because you make sure that your body is consistently getting the proper fuel that it needs to grow, lose fat, perform, etc.
