I am very honest with myself and with others too, but maybe I wasn´t in this case with him.

I am not the woman to wait for someone to improve in 500 years, you need to want to improve constantly to be compatible with me, if he wants to improve in his time frame meaning to put his veneers when he´s 60, I am not the one for him.

Is this what is healthy ? you just watch people doing the wrong thing and you let them do it for as long as they want to ?

am i too eastern european to understand how this is something i should accept ??

I´m far from naive or foolish, I am not forcing and not guarding relationships.

you probably are an insecure loser who needs to control his relationship and make it work. I don´t want to make it work loser, I want someone who is compatible with me and we improve ourselves together or I´ll stay in my lane. Stop talking about how I am so naive when you are a divorced loser with some sour baby momma

No guy wants to be with someone constantly evaluating if he's "good enough".

Correct you're incredibly toxic. If you weren't you'd be both married or in a long term relationship by now.

Logic, not even once. The problem is you are so narcissistic you only consider your POV, not his. I can tell you right now the fastest way to end a relationship is to tell him to date other women.

Not even sure why you posted this here. You cannot handle the truth, as evidence by all your defensive replies.

I don't understand why you're upset.

You were happy for him to date other women previously cos you thought he'd always come back, so give it a couple weeks and he'll come back again right?

Especially if he's as bad a loser as you say. You might even get flowers.

I am only unhappy because I actually wasted my time and I can do and will do much much better.

Flowers are not a problem, I believe that I can move to getting cars.

I did face it. Doesn't change my objective comments on your situation. You seem to have projected your own insecurities and appetite for success onto your bf. You basically measure your sense of self worth by the bf you have. Many women do this. You kept trying to "improve him". There is no hierarchy. What would an improved version of him be? 20 lbs lighter? Him on some T with more definition? Him except richer? Face it. You just wanted a different guy. That beer belly, that lifestyle, that's who he is. If you don't want it, that's fine. But you can't make someone into something they are not. I don't think you ever loved him. You just wanted to make him into someone you could love and be proud of. You couldn't even "present" him. He is better off without you, and you are better off without him.

Even just you thinking that way is the reason your relationship ended. Get a clue.

Might also be a cultural difference because I think in Europe people are more open minded about staying friends with exes or letting a guy date other women. I personally disagree with it but it might be cultural.
It was a harsh day and this topic turned out to 1) give really good advice for me, by smart powerful women 2) team up pressed losers who can´t understand the importance of evolving in life.

Also I know lots of people who are in good relations with their exs, it was an important part of their life or they have kids or they simply were more suitable as friends than dating partners. Idk if this is cultural difference tbh

Rationalizing of peace from OP. "Why did he think I would look for someone better? I love him, I just want him to become a completely different person. "

No my dear, people do not generally improve in life. Maybe that's true for the first 30 years or so. It's all downhill from there. Your life is not a process of continual improvement. There will come a time when you will genuinely feel proud of not pissing yourself and remembering the street you live on.

It's a cold, rough world. You do what you can to survive. You try to make life better for yourself and your loved ones. If you're doing that, that is good enough. That should be good enough. That goes for both you and him. Your dreams of continual improvement fail in reality. Nature imposes hard limits on people. You must love a man for who he is. You can push him to improve within his limits, but he will resent you for it. And ultimately, he will only budge so far.

Maybe we all have to choose between marrying a rich alpha good provider who cheats on the side OR just an average beta middle class guy who is loyal (because no better options). Sounds awful I know but I wonder if this is the ultimate reality pill for women.
That is not how life is for women. There are plenty of high quality men who don't cheat. But most of them will be snatched up asap. No guy wants to be evaluated as beta by women. If you think a dude is a beta, don't waste his time.
