Literally HOW are boomers so deluded....
My parents are classic.
They are typical "pull up your boot straps" types who say how they worked really hard for everything they had, and that my generation needs to stop buying iPhones and coffees and that we need to learn to go without.
Meanwhile they forget that I know their life when they were in their 20s-30s.
Dad left school at 15 and walked onto a building site and got hired.
Running his own firm 3 years later
Owned first home age 20. Two home owner by 26.
Holidays abroad every year, sometimes twice a year.
In the pub most nights of the week and almost all day most Saturdays and sundays
Takeouts every week as well as meals out regularly
Only dad had to work because back then you could run a household on one wage.
Remember things such as my dad giving my mum 1000 pounds in cash to "go shopping as it was a good week" that's like about 3 grand in todays money.
It's like need I go on.

Sounds pretty similar to my life
Built my first house at age 19 after the Asian financial crisis
Had doubled in value by the time I got the keys

I don't get it. What your dad did is exactly what you do now to become as successful as him.

I didn't have any money when I started my company. I had a full time job that paid the bills and worked my ass off, getting the real thing going as a side hustle.

Every generation has its own struggles that other generations can't understand. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying you're wasting your time if you try to explain it to boomers. Just try to do your best with what you have.

Boomers define entitlement, pass it along to their kids, then shrug their shoulders.
Keep in mind boomers had no problem burying themselves in debt for houses and cars. Just being able to "get" stuff doesn't mean you should. Boomers are facing a retirement crisis because of their bad money habits.
Also, if you play your hand right you, you CAN crush it in life. Don't take "bootstrap" advice from lazy Boomers though.
