When the chit hits the fan, a man steps forward to deal with it. He doesn't run. He doesn't hide. He doesn't whine or cry. He may fail, but he knows it's his job to try.

Not sure what that has to do with anything though, I don’t think that makes someone any more or less a man necessarily. Are you implying that makes them more masculine? It's interesting because people don't usually talk about bisexuality. I think these days it adds some extra allure to their characters, and of course is 'permitted' by their showbiz / film backgrounds.

I think sexuality has been over simplified by many and over complicated by some. Many people assume that you are either straight or gay if you are a man. Most people assume that if a woman is bisexual that is normal and part of many females experiences or that they are doing it for attention or what not. But if a male is open about being bisexual there will be a large segment of the population who will just assume he’s a homosexual who doesn’t want to commit to the homosexual label out of shame or whatever. So many bisexual men will go through life identifying as heterosexuals, whether they like men and women equally, or they prefer one gender over the other, or they mainly like the opposite sex but like a certain type of the same sex (for example a man who mostly likes women but also likes ladyboys or twinks or whatever) etc. So instead of risking being grouped with homosexuals and I guess nowadays things like pansexuals and stuff like that they will just identify as heterosexual.

Plus it probably wouldn’t be a great career move most of the time.

Why do you think identifying as homosexual isn't a great move career-wise? It hasn't harmed me as far as I'm aware.

I’m talking about in terms of films, although there are plenty of successful homosexual actors I do think there is a decent segment of the population who upon knowing an actor is gay, decide not to watch their work anymore if they can help it. I’m not saying that if you are gay in any field you shouldn’t be open about it, I’m saying that if you are a bisexual man it’s not worth being associated with gays if you can help it. Because like I said there are many people who upon hearing a man is bisexual, will group him in with gays even regardless of where on the bisexual spectrum he is.

Yeah I suppose so. For some gay men even, when they tell their friends they're gay they refuse to believe it, especially if they're otherwise conventionally masculine.
