The following is based on my actual experiences with guys over the years. I guess I'd be stamped "gay" according to society's checklist (why I despise labels - we're human beings attracted to other human beings.) I've been an amateur bodybuilder for over 10 years and hooked up with a good number of guys, the majority completely straight acting in public and quite a few that were married or had a gf:

1) A preoccupation with looking "perfect" (he's in the mirror more than you are) - he's actually prepping himself for other men.

2) All of his friends are muscular, attractive guys - This is a MAJOR red flag. Straight men don't choose their friends based on physique/appearance.

3) Constantly showering at all times of the day - Strange right? Like #1, he's prepping himself for a sexual encounter that can happen at any time.

4) Constantly talks about ****s/gays - He's constantly berating them, complaining about guys hitting on him/being attracted to him. Why? That's where his energy is going. He actually likes the attention he received from other men.

5) Hangs out with his "buddies" more often than you - He often will be coming home late or at odd hours, citing "work" or "deadlines." Look for #1 and #3. I do not know of a straight man that wants to hang around other men constantly - particularly if he has a family.

6) The BEACH Test- If your gut is telling you something isn't right - take hubby out to a beach where gay men frequent. WATCH HIS EYES - he'll be constantly stealing glances at the muscular attractive men while trying his best to make sure you don't see that.

7) He stays in great shape no matter what - this is probably the weakest one, but my experience is women don't care about their husbands being constantly ripped. He doesn't need to look like a model. I say weakest because he may not be gay, just prefer having a specific body type.

8) The secret cell phone - A guy who was married (we hooked up several times) told me he keeps a second cell phone in his locker at work. On that phone, he has the gay apps "Jack'd" and/or "Grindr" that gay men use to discreetly hook up with other men. You will know nothing about this phone and unless he leaves it out somewhere or forgets about it, you will not know.

This list isn't exhaustive, but it's based on my real experiences hooking up and talking with these guys. BE CAREFUL because your health can be at great risk - if he's out there barebacking/no condoms (which a lot of them are), you could contract HIV and a host of other STDs thinking you have a loving husband when in fact he's a closeted gay man that does not want to accept his sexuality. If you do find out he's gay, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. YOU CANNOT TURN A STRAIGHT MAN GAY. The issue is his refusal to accept his sexuality or get counseling/professional help to resolve it. Part of getting help means he has to accept his attraction to men - and most of them FLAT OUT REFUSE TO DO SO. My advice is to leave the relationship and move on with your life.

P.S.: DO NOT CONFRONT HIM IF YOU CONFIRM THAT HE IS GAY. THE INSTANT PANIC AND TERROR BROUGHT ON BY THE SUDDEN REALIZATION THAT YOU "KNOW" CAN LEAD TO TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES. There have been men who murder their spouses when she threatens to "out" him to his family/friends and the terror of being exposed and losing everything can lead to very unpredictable behavior. Pack your basic needs, clothing, and go to a hotel (not a family member's home) and speak to him over the phone regarding the truth. Trust me on this. DO NOT CONFRONT IN PERSON.
