Florida brahs

I’m seriously considering quitting my job, selling my house and moving to Florida. I currently live in Maryland, they’ve gone to far with this mask mandate and I’ve had all I can take.

I’m just looking to get some info on good locations, employment opportunities and weather.


I plan on selling my house and quitting my job. Which believe it not, is about 100k per year. But, I’m prepared to give it up and start over because they are forcing me to wear a mask all day. I refuse to go anywhere else besides work because I have become so depressed and demoralized by these mask mandates. At this point I’m so depressed life here isn’t even worth getting out of bed.

I’ve been to Tampa and Destin for work. But that was years ago.

I’m thinking Closer to the east Coast.

What kind of work do you guys have there? I know a guy who moved from Maryland and opened up a dive shop.

I literally think about this every fuking day. however I know that I am only seeing the positive sides of Florida and not the alligators & druggies eating other peoples' faces stuff. Not to mention it might get boring (ironic based on last sentence written).

I'm in a red county in FL and we still have mask laws and half or more the restaurants are still closed I dont think they are opening back up

I had just bought a year membership at this gym and they closed too and I called a bunch of times but their voicemail is full and when I went there again a couple months ago their doors were still locked I think they went out of business

Grass isn't always greener

Last gov election Desantis won by ~36,000 votes which was by less than half a %. Also in that election 1.6+ million felons now get to vote because they passed an amendment so now next election 1.6+ million felons can vote and we have all these north easterners that have moved in here. Pretty much fuked now

Crime can be really bad in cities and you wont hear much about it because local news covers the stuff up never reports on it. A lot of violent crime never gets solved. Only things you hear about are particularly gruesome crimes like a while ago they found a severed head on the side of the road in St. Petersburg and the local news wrote a paragraph story on it but nothing since, never solved the crime.

Not even top 20 state for violent crime lmao. We're just in the news more because police reports are public record thanks to our extremely open government structure aka the "Sunshine Law" 100% dead srs. More weird chit happens wherever you live we're just open about it.

Oh ok. One of the schools I got into is in a similar area in California and I decided I'm staying the hell away. I want to be happy where I move.

I'm transferring to finish my bachelors still in either Kinesiology/Physiology or Neuroscience (depends on the school). I think in Florida my major would be Kines. Then I apply to med school in another 18-24 months which could take me anywhere in the country.

UF is probably the best all around college in FL based on education and tuition. Miami would be a close second but costs at least double. But the hnnggggg international sloots are everywhere.

I went to UCF, great school but definitely still a party school and has the largest attendance in the state.

been in south florida for a month escaping the brutal february winter weather. that 30days was enough to convince me to come back in the summer to see if i can tolerate the humidity and if i can, i'll make the move.
