In reality, both sides did things wrong. A lot of the blame goes to the construction company, that allowed pedestrians to walk near heavy machinery.

The simple fact is, walking and staring into your phone is as dangerous as texting and driving.

Hope the tradie is ok and gets consoling as needed (paid of course) and is back to work soon

That construction company is about to pay a lot of money to the victims family. I didn't see no spotter, no tape to block off the area or anything. On the other hand that lady paid the ultimate price for not paying attention. Face buried in her phone, probably had headphones in. How could you not hear that loud back up siren? Talk about being completely oblivious to everything around her.

I dunno about anyone else but I always maintain situational awareness..especially in big cities and crowded venues. Now my kids live with Beats by Dre on their heads like it's an extension of their body but i'm cool with it as long as they are bumpin 6ix9ine with their nuts out.
