What do you do when your entire life is nothing but stress
From the second you wake up until you go to bed at night.
How do you unwind?

I have a few family members who are like those
Though a lot of the stress is objectively self inflicted or imagined
Try starting there with your mindset and mental wellbeing to reduce perceived stressors, and for real stressful things, push through and solve. If things are really hard maybe talk to counsellor or something. You can do it mane.

Life for the majority of human kind is 90% suffering.
You have to learn to enjoy certain things and take time to enjoy them. For me they are.
Taking stimulants and vigorously exercising.
Riding motorcycle
Good food
Company of young women
Spending time outdoors with my dog.
...nothing in life really matters, the universe spit us out so it could experience itself. Experience new things until you learn what you like and then do that some more.

You did specify that your example was self inflicted but mindset is really bad advice as a catch all answer.
Some kid who's parents threaten to throw them out on the street if they don't get perfect grades? Mindset isn't the problem.
Finish college and economy is in shambles and hard to find a job that pays more than minimum wage? Mindset isn't the problem.

We're not saying NOT to feel stressed, what we are saying is how you DEAL with the stress. You can't always control external forces/actions/global pandemic, etc. What you can control is how you deal, process, accept and move on. It's okay to be stressed but instead of focusing on the stress and letting it consume you, try and build some mental fortitude to move past it. Pain is temporary.
My wife almost died giving birth to our son last August. Her heart flatlined and lost pulse on baby as well, luckily emergency operation and both are okay... That was the beginning of it. She then had two strokes, high BP, pre-eclamptic and we spent the last 4 months living in the hospital while I was trying to work and take care of 4 kids, one of which is a newborn baby. She was taking pharmaceutical soup and eventually she leveled out again....
My work, I am one of the senior managers of the team. I was working out of the hospital, at night after I got the kids down. Barely slept. Had my direct reports complain about the dumbest chit and I had to push through it. Yes - handful of times I broke down, but I have to be strong, move forward and tell myself it doesn't matter what happens, I'm going to make it.
"Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one."
Millions of people have drama and stress and you can either let it consume you, paralyze you, hold you back. Or you can accept it, analyze it, plan and persevere.

Live presently, practice mindfulness.
Ded fukin srs.
Take a look at your situation. Can you break it down and simplify it? Are you putting more stress on a situation that isnt that big?
What is your self talk like?

A lot of things become over complicated unnecessarily.
I think stress comes from within and it’s your own mindset. You’re stressed because you’re thinking about being stressed and you’re thinking about stress because you’re stressed. It’s your own mindset and attitude and only you can change it.
Don’t overcomplicate it man. A lot of people think way too deep nowadays and that’s the reason why we’re living in a world with such high anxiety, stress and depression figures. Let go from the world for a bit. Switch your phone and electrical devices off. Be on your own. Do your own thing for a few days.

Like some above said...be mindful. Focus on what you're doing even if it's hard..tell yourself that there are people in the world dealing with far worse with a much better attitude and without the blessings of an internet connection to complain about it...when you are active and doing something immerse yourself in it..when you're eating think about the foood you're eating and drinking..when you're working out think about how healthy you are/will become. Cut out all stimulants alcohol and nicotine and try to eat healthy....try to do things that make you feel good like listening to good music, watching a good movie..take a walk, eat a good meal...count your blessings.

I don’t know this feel
I used to stress out a lot when I was younger and now I’m super chill.
I tend to focus on the moment pretty often. It’s all that exists anyways. With a healthy relationship to the present moment you can make better choices for the next present moment.
It does help that I was very blessed and my life is objectively really easy though

It’s because I have a great relationship with death. Fear of death is what causes stress really. A lot of things that other people can find stressful I take a “okay then what” approach to it.
I get fired from my job
“Okay then what”
I become homeless
“Okay then what”
I’m embarrassed and suffering and in danger
“Okay then what”
Etc etc all the way down. Until either I find a solution (which can be found early on up as you can see, just find another job) OR I die
and that’s where we’re all headed anyways
