China can fuk us up in many soft domains. They can electronically own us. They can withhold some key raw materials and it'll take us a decade to re-source them. They know what they're doing.

The fundamental problem is that up until the 21st century, being an open capitalistic democracy was clearly the superior way of organizing a society and all previous authoritarian socialist societies were doomed to fail because it is far too difficult to organize and communicate effectively - the internet changed this 180 degrees. It is now possible to have an effective top-down authoritarian leadership while allowing enough "freedom" for businesses to flourish and bring money in which then funds your militaristic and expansionist programs.

One of the really sad things is all of the developing countries that cheer on Chinese investment and are so happy the US is fading when they are about to be absolutely owned in no time

China is more aggressive and seems better at this asymmetrical warfare than we are (if that's the right term; not sure.) It's not about alpha, it's about winning.
