Which one of you made it onto the Crime Junkies podcast with this tinder strategy?
Randomly heard this podcast and the episode was about a girl ending up on a really creepy tinder date. The presenters and most of the listeners (supposedly a strong majority of whom are female) think the girl in the story nearly fell victim to human traffickers, or possibly a serial killer. But to me this sounds like an autistic dating strategy straight out of one of the old misc tinder threads.
Links at the bottom.
Cliffs:
-Girl named Jez is new in Denver and makes plans to meet up with a very attractive guy from Tinder at the Old Chicago bar
-Jez arrives first, guy texts that he's running late and tells her to grab a seat at the bar and order two fireballs
-Random dude sits at the bar alone near Jez and starts talking to her
-Tinder guy keeps texting excuses that he's running late, sounds like he's ghosting her
-Jez tries calling the guy but it says his phone number is not in service
-Random dude at the bar keeps talking to Jez, they talk about the Tinder guy standing her up
-Random dude offers to buy Jez dinner and drinks since this other guy stood her up
-Seems kind of pushy and is trying to get her to come sit at a table with him, she says yes
-Jez goes to the bathroom first and a waitress follows her in and pulls her aside
-Waitress tells her that the random guy always seems to show up like this, when girls have been ghosted by their dates
-Always pays cash so they don't know his name
-She says he almost always leaves with the girls and they seem very intoxicated (the podcast seems to imply he's drugging them)
-Waitress and bartender are both really concerned about the guy and Jez's safety
-She heeds the warning and leaves without eating/drinking with him
The podcast recently did a followup where they actually interview the bartender and waitress (though they don't really add much to the story). But apparently a bunch of female listeners wrote in to the show to tell them about similar experiences and this same exact scenario has been happening all over the country. Of course this immediately causes the presenters to say "omg human trafficking network!" I had thought he sounded like a miscer in the original story, but hearing about the same thing happening all over and some sort of "underground network" makes me think this soundsexactlylike the kind of thing you'd see in an old misc tinder threat circa 2014-2015ish.
lmao which one of you is this???

For your time, one of the podcast presenters is kind of a hbb:

She does most of the talking. Tries to make everything sound suspenseful, but has kind of a soothing voice, srs
The other one, not so much
Spoiler!

Mostly it’s probably just the luck of being a decent looking woman. Always a guy willing to buy you dinner.
However, the same guy at the same restaurant with multiple women always paying with cash - obviously, there’s something going on. Very unlikely human trafficking though. Afaik regular girls in their 20s don’t get snatched up like that.

It’s a good setup for a date rape, girl will be in the mood / looking forward to going out, be pissed off she got stood up, willing to take some free drinks, will have no idea who you are no links to you etc..

Girl drama attention seeking cliffs:
“Oh my god , i am so beautiful that someone wanted to have me kidnapped! And forced into sex trafficking! Because I am so irresistible!”
What really happened cliffs:
“Oh I got stood up but Timothy at the bar is trying to flirt with me. Ew gross must be a murderer!”

That said the girls emailing in saying something happened similar to them is 100% attention seeking chick BS. I’m sure something similar has happened in so that they get stood up and some guy chats them up (FYI if you’re a girl at a bar alone a guy will ALWAYS chat you up) but just lol at thinking it’s human trafficking
