What to do if an ex keeps contacting you?

I told her a long time ago I want nothing to do with her, but she keeps contacting me, I mean its not often but like every month or every 2 months she writes something on instagram, its getting a bit annoying.

I kinda feel bad because her dad abandoned her when she was a child and shes had a messed up childhood, obviously thats what makes her messed up in the head now, but it does also make me feel a bit bad to just ghost her like this... but like you said I don't have much of a choice I told her clearly that im not interested anymore and that we should both walk our own path and I wish her luck, and she just can't get it.

It really stinks when you have compassion for and understand why people are the way that they are. I also think it's possible to feel bad and acknowledge that you don't like doing this thing while also protecting yourself and moving on. You're probably not doing it, but make sure you're not responding in any way to her attempts at contact. Ignoring her 99 times but responding on the 100th trains people that it takes 100 times for you to acknowledge them.
