You don't get it. Cops don't do chit. Do you know they come down to the suburbs at night and steal cars from dealerships, and sometimes just leave them on fire on the side of the expressway? They will do this for weeks and then finally get caught. They'll have a list of 80+ felonies. They get thrown in jail for a bit, then toss them back out on the street.

I live in a small suburban/rural area and they literally drove around until they found a car they were looking for to sell parts or sell, rolled up to a guy in a new charger in the mcdonalds drive through a min away from me, and car jacked him. Got off scotch free.

And then politicians and police are against people who defend themselves from the pieces of chit.
