Better call Saul/Breaking bad

Is anyone here as much a fan as I am?

Sadly I never watched breaking bad until late 2019 then ran through each episode. Then had to watch BCS.

I have the friggin phone numbers stored in my phone just to call Saul Goodman and hear the message.

Damn pandemic killed season 6 from happening this year so have to wait until next year. Never was committed to a tv show like this since sopranos way back when.

Anyone here watch both?

I liked BB and Saul was by far my fav character. Tried watching the first 2 seasons of BCS, and absolutely hated it.

Did Better Call Saul ever become more like his character in Breaking Bad? Or did it stay slow and not very exciting?

Both great shows in my opinion.

When BB was first aired I thought it was decent but certain characters like Skyler always annoyed me but have just started rewatching it and now actually enjoy the show more 2nd time around.

Love BCS. I just find Saul characters so interesting. So capable but also so self destructive as well and his relationship with his brother I really enjoyed. It's probably my favourite show right now along with The Expanse.

better call saul is getting heated AF right now. It was more of a slow burn with the whole chuck electricity story, etc. but now with the cartel and mike being mike its fkn epic as hell.

Honestly almost as good if not as good as breaking bad IMO.

better call saul is trash. it's probably the only show i've watched where every episode was a struggle to watch to the end. brb checking how long the episode has left every time. brb getting bored.

just finished watching Rome last night. one of the GOATs

This.

It was so intense. The shootout with jimmy holding the bag etc. It was Gilligan at his best again

Yep. I was looking forward to it for like a year and quit entirely after two seasons. Biggest letdown ever.

breaking bad is the king

el camino i really enjoyed. a nice tribute to the show, even if it wasn't entirely needed. well done, outside of Jesse Plemons gaining 60 pounds and looking out of place in flashbacks

better call, i gave a real good chance and for some reason it never clicked with me.

bcs is def a very slow show in the beginning. ive watched it twice now and have to say its much better the second time. also, season 5 really set itself apart from the other seasons. it was really good. im talking from the very first scene to the very last. sets up the final season to be incredible hopefully.

BCS was purposely made like that, to show how and why the characters developed into who they are. The Gene Takovic flash forwards have me captured, we only get a few minutes per season tops. Once Lalo was introduced at the tail end of season 4 it was a game changer, especially those who paid attention and remember when Walt and Jesse had Saul at gun point. Saul said "soy amigo de cartel!"......"Lalo didn't send you, no Lalo?"....walt's like what are you talking about, then Saul was beyond relieved.

Now with Lalo in the picture, it's reminiscent of Breaking Bad as far as anticipation on what will happen. Lalo had me terrified when he was with Saul and Kim in the apartment, guy can be the charming funny stud or a stone faced killer.
