Why the hate on us rentcels?

I rent a room in a house 99% of the misc could never afford, including myself obviously.

I can pack up and leave at the end of any given month.

Sure my rent isn't invested into anything other than temporary shelter, but what's the realistic alternative?

Some of us want the ability to pack up and leave at a moment's notice.

no hate just think ownership is better for long term gains


sure you can pack up and leave at the end of the month, but how easy do you find a good place to live? its not easy where I live, plus slumlords and eviction are real things

if you are unfazed by a surprise eviction, good on you (landlord could say he is now living there instead of you, it happens)

I see what you're saying, but I think the renting market has changed in terms of how common such things are given the astronomical costs of buyng homes these days.

My roommates make $80-100K and aren't even buying.

ultimately you should do what makes you happy, thats the most important, because when you die, the money doesnt transfer over lol
