1. That's happened in most seasons, its not exclusive to season 8

2. It's not like Arya spent a whole season training to be an assassin or anything. What would have been a better end for him, explain?

3. More main characters died in the long night than any other battle. Tyrion would have died in season 1 without plot armor

4.Jon never wanted the throne and just wanted freedom to live his own life. And he got that beyond the wall.

5. Jaime redeemed himself defending Winterfell but still loves his sister despite the horrible things she's done. Its a toxic relationship

6. I agree Bran could have done a bit more, but wasn't he the one who warned warned everyone the NK tore down the wall and was headed to winterfell?

7. Dany has been threatened to destroy cities for like 6 seasons, she's always had the potential for extreme violence and cruelty when not reined in by her advisors. The people of westeros will never love her as a foreign conqueror so all she has left is fear.

I was so dissapointed with how they did the knight king. EIGHT seasons of buildup all for him to die so randomly and unexpectedly and without even putting out a fight first. Bran and Samwell also turned out to completely useless *******s. Littlefinger was also given an extremely lame unmemorable death.

So you're mad because his death"subverted expectations"and him and jon didn't have a 30 minute anime sword fight? Bran and Sam revealing Jons heritage was the main thing that cause dany and jons relationship do go sour when she realized her claim to the throne wasn't worth chit and Jon wasn't into that incest chit. Long post so I'll tag it:

Season 7 was already declining in pacing and had a ton of logical inconsistencies. And I disliked it as well, but was hoping season 8 would redeem it. It didn't.

I haven't watched a single episode of GoT since, have been trying to burn it from my memory but here are a few of the major reasons:

1. Just because you're tired of hearing about it, the writing IS bad.

2. Everyone knows the episodes were rushed. When the leak came out of how few episodes there would be, we were already beginning to panic wondering how the FUK they would close out the story in such a short time.

3. As a result the story was rushed. The pacing was really off and I felt they needed at least 2 or 3 more seasons to finish it.

4. Characters no longer acted like themselves. Suddenly Tyrion, who once traded blows and won vs LF and Varys became a complete fuking incapable idiot who did nothing right. Suddenly Jaime who became one of my top 3 characters because of his incredible arc completely regressed back to season 1 Jaime. Suddenly LF lost a psychological battle against Sansa LMAO. Suddenly a switch is flipped and Daenaerys who loved innocents and children slaughters hundreds of thousands to get back at a woman she hates. Suddenly, after following 7 seasons of our lead Jon Snow, he becomes a nobody "Ah dun wannit, ure ma kween" lmao. But who was the lord of Light? But who were the red priestess crew? But who were the faceless men? Who was all the lore?

5. The ever looming ever scary threat of the entire show were the white walkers. They were supposed to be the end of man but end up being killed in the first village they came across by a little girl using the trope of killing the main villain and all the others die. Absolutely pathetic and every time you watch over the show, I dare you to feel the least bit afraid of the white walkers when they show up knowing how embarrassingly they were defeated.

6. More characters who were fukked. Just LMAO @ Brandon playing pigeon simulator while the battle was happening. All that build up for his story only to end up being completely useless just like his brother. The two sisters get everthing handed to them while the brothers had a chit story. Arya avenged the red wedding, becomes the best fighter on earth and kills the Night King. Sansa outsmarts, takes out Littlefinger and becomes queen of the North. Jon and Brandon did nothing.

7. So many STUPID moments that make no sense. One example, they develop a Scorpion that's able to snipe 1 dragon dead with 1 arrow from 350 meters away. Woah, sounds terrifying for Dany. But later in the battle of Queen's Landing about 500 arrows couldn't hit the last dragon from point blank range. Here's another example, in the battle vs the Walkers. Brb military leader sending all your Dothraki charging into the darkness to fight a massive horde of zombies. LOL. Brb Zombies swarm the keep but all the main characters survive despite being swarmed. Brb Jon decides to 1v1 a Zombie Dragon and doesn't get killed.


I can go on and on about how fuking stupid this season was. You truly have to turn your brain off to not be insulted. Just sad that people still defend it after the brilliance that was Seasons 1-4 and the semi brilliance of 5 and 6.

I always tell people, this to me is the official last episode of the show. I like to pretend it all ended here

It really feels like you just fully committed to your fanfiction ending and feel like you know the characters better that GRRM and the writers.

I dont think S8 is perfect but its better than season 5 and 7

I read the books when they were first issued in paperback. Only watched some of season 1 of the tv series.

I didn't say she couldn't possibly go mad, I'm saying she was extremely rational, and went from loving her people and innocents for 7 seasons and randomly flipped on them in the 8th.

Dany has been consistently kind to innocents for the entire show. Of course she can go mad but at least flesh it out over a few seasons and build us up to it. Losing a dragon and being angry at Cersei is not enough reason to completely flip. She lost a dragon to the NK but all she thought about was how grateful she was that Jon survived. People don't just go genocidal in 5 mins dawg, especially a kind person like Dany. That's not how it works and it rightfully felt like a completely different character.


You're free to have your opinion but I'm not sure why you're getting off on trying to invalidate mine as "parroting" reddit. I don't even use reddit, it's my honest criticism.

IMO, the structure of the GoT plot was being built towards a showdown between the Lord of Light and the Night King. That's what I was getting from the whole Lord of Light arc -- that that god was real, and viewed the Night King as an abomination. There was definitely a duality hinted to throughout the plot: Lord of Light brings people back to life, the Night King brings back revenants and thralls.

So I expected the Lord of Light to play some role in the Night King's demise. Instead we got shoehorned Arya Stark ninja strike, and the spineless, cockless twerp (whose name I forgot -- imagine that) suddenly regaining their spine.

Was pretty disappointing.

I really don't think any of the gods are real in ASOIAF and all the "miracles" are just magic drawn from something else

My MLB park still allows you to bring in your own food and beverages which is amazing this day in age, and last minute tickets are always like $10-15 all-in.

In terms of watching it on TV, it's only entertaining to me if I have money on something. It's good background ambiance at a bar though and I like hearing old people talk about it

Dude right. They just abandoned the whole lore. All of it.

Prince who was promised? Lord of the light? Faceless men? Who were the white walkers? Why?

All the mystery and supernatural dynamics building up over the seasons. Clearly Jon was special, he was brought back from the actual dead. What was his purpose? He was clearly our protagonist

It felt so cheap that all that fantastic buildup got insta defeated by a 360 no scope stab from a stealth assassin 16 year old girl who flew through 500 zombies without the literal Demi God knowing or sensing. A God got killed by a basic human cheap shot and it was just over. Laughable. I was legit expecting him to return next episode or something, there was no way it was over so quickly and pathetically.

I live in the Northeast and going to NY or Boston games for a family $400-500 easy....Once a year is enough. I do like watching on TV

Try to hit Citizens Bank Park if you ever get a chance. Its a pretty good view and costs as much as a minor league game

Disagree, sure he's not a very versatile actor for sure but he's definitely been good in some films. I see him kinda like Arnold, when he tries to act outside of his niche he sucks, but within his niche, he's a good actor.

I hate one of my two dogs. Just to clarify I don't beat him or anything like that, make sure he gets attention/exercise/ etc.. But I probably would have tried to find him a new home if my wife and daughter didn't like him. He is well behaved but literally the dumbest dog (lab/pit/mutt) I've ever had and its not even close. Everyone thinks I'm an ******* because I say I hate him but live with him for a weak and you would understand. He constantly stands/lays down/sits in the wrong spot despite having a large bed to lay in and knowing that is where he is supposed to lay unless called. He's extremely needy and whines at everything. Constantly underfoot despite weighing 60lbs. Contrast to my other pupper who rarely gets in the way and is much more self sufficient and female. Pretty sure the male is the most beta male dog on the planet.

It probably doesn't help that the last male dog my family had (German Shepard Alpha Male) was the most independent dog on the planet. Literally had multiple out of the way spots he would lay down at depending on where everyone was in the house with his go to being the landing on the stairs if everyone was spread out so he could keep an eye on the front door and keep track of where everyone was. Every hour or so he would get up and go check on everyone then back to his spot to keep watch. Was literally the best dog ever.

Sucks because I really love dogs but he has seriously made me consider not getting another dog after our current ones pass.
